Yeroc, your RM is the first I've seen with cut side plates that doesn't look like shit. I still prefer the stock shape but at least you didn't screw it up too bad.

Cooper, your bike is so bad ass but you definitely ruined the look with those side plates.

Thanks grizz, my buddy cut them and I'm not sure his exact angle and he also sanded down the edges. I haven't bought it yet or seen it in person. Just not ready to "pull the trigger" on something nearly 15 years old. I think it's a good deal with all the new parts on it but I think for $2000 to $3000 price limit I've set for myself I'd like to get a newer 2 stroke.

If i had the money to buy a bike for harescrambles and my friend had that RM to sell i dont think id be waiting as long as you to buy it. 15 years old or not thats a great bike. A tank and maybe a flywheel and you would be beating guys spending 6000 more on orange bikes.. i honestly dont feel you would be at the slightest disadvantage. Unless you know something about the bike thats not apparent in the pics like it has 500 hours or something. To me age isnt important as how much the bike was cared for.

The way you cut sidepanels on a Suzuki RM also depends on the graphics you have and if it's one, two or three digits...

another problems for us europeans is to find the american side panels as the european one have larger right side for the longer silencer.
I'd love to buy titanium front and rear axe here http://store.mettec.com/category/330
but it's for american citizens only.
There's many ways to make your bike beautiful!

By the way what happend to the tank on the RC4 replica?

Either way it's just my opinion Laughing I just prefer the stock look anymore. I feel like the "make my older two stroke resemble a new four stroke" deal is a bit overdone at this point.

Agree, trimming side panels on RMs is tricky. I only took off about 2cm at the lowest corner and angled the bottom to match the tank/shroud graphics. These pics show it better:

I have two tanks so I thought I'd trim about 1 inch off the bottom of one to allow a little more room to perv on the motor. (!)

Oh, one more thing I did to it was bolted on a Brembo front brake master cylinder - instant pucker power!

on my bike i have braking batfly 270mm disc, venhill cable & renthal lever and i'm really satisfied with the power...
(huge difference with stock front brake)
I have 2013 RMZ triple clamps so i can only use RMZ front number plate and front fender.
Use pro bolt aluminium bolts on almost everything and titanium on more crucial parts, it's quite fun searching parts for you bike
through internet...
Got a 2001 Rm 125 14 years ago and while it's a bit strange to ride almost the same bike after so many years,
i have lot of fun riding it, it feels light, it turns very well, it's just not as stable as a YZ or KTM.
The motor is really good as it's the same as this one :

That thing is sick and very well done & is without a doubt one of the trickest RM250's that I've ever seen.. I love it. Great job Cooper :-)

Thanks Digger, is it your RM that has the frame welds 'blued' with a torch then clear coated? That's a very original idea that looks oh so sweet.
