Ok perhaps 'over hyped ' was the wrong phrase but I still think you guys are expecting a lot from him.

Anyhow we will soon see.

No, some people just love stirring the pot and getting everyone all "riled" up. There will be some good racing to come from all the top contenders. Should be lots of fun.

This thread is just a delibrate attempt to wind people up so don't pay too much attention to it. Even if secretly it is what a lot of Americans do actually think...

It's going to be very intriguing to see how the season plays out, but I'll be surprised if RV doesn't get off to a very good start in Qatar.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him start well at Qatar either, and having seen a picture of the new track in Thailand, I wouldn't be surprised to see him carry it on there. That said, there are others who seem to go well at Qatar, and it is a horrible, square edge kinda track. Start will be very important as it's hard to pass, and it has the potential to throw up some surprises. Like Covington's 3rd and Anstie being comfortably in the lead in both motos last year

I know you can't compare RV and JD but I still think RV is abit over hyped

I hope you're joking but it sounds as though you're actually serious!!!?
That's as good a cast as I've seen in a while.

I actually think RV will start slow and then pour it on. He may win a moto at Qatar, but I don't think it will be by a large margin. He will definitely be on the podium though.....

Qatar is a weird deal anyway, see results from last year, way differents than every other races. That said, RV will be competiting for the win every single moto, no doubt about that. More importantly we, as fans, will be the big winners by having such a legend rider ride our little serie against one other Great. Add Paulin, Desalle, JVH, Frossard and Nagl in the mix... I can't wait.

I'd be more confident in an RV win if I saw him killin it practicing on a blown out track. I say it takes a round or 2 for RV to get a sniff of the front. He hasn't raced in a long time.

I think there's a few rider's in the GP's that are very happy with RV racing the series. Everyone is debating on who's gonna take the title home , RV or AC. This takes the pressure of the shoulders from some very fast and talented riders! We belgians might not be the most outspoken bigmouth type of people so the underdog position suits CD JVH KS and KDD just fine IMO.
Just sayin' I don't believe it will be just a two man battle...

I think he will just be gauging pace at the first few rounds. I don't really think he will push himself until round 3 or so. It's anyone's guess how he will do. It's a whole diff world over there and after seeing him in the sand in that one vid I'm not convinced he's much better than those guys on their tracks. Oh well can't wait to see!!

I don't think the Euros really know how fast RV is. You guys keep talking about the Des nations.. WTF? RD5 is not coming over. I agree with poster that said may take a few rounds for him to get going. RV is an animal and won't stop till he has the lead. He is going to give it 110% from drop of gate till flag drops. None of this pace yourself shit for the first few Laps. I tell you if they do that against him he will be long gone. You don't think he can't keep that lead once he gets it? This is a two man race & AC has never had to race anyone like RV before.

And what about the deep sand tracks? I think RV's sand skills are great......but AC great? I see him trying to get top 3 at these places....and when it hits the dirt.......it'll be more ass whoppin' time. Lookin' out for the title!

God Damn......thank god Herlings is staying down in the MX2 stuff. The kid's ego would be bruised forever with the gap AC and RV would put on him. KTM made a wise choice by letting JH84 stay down one more year.....I guess when you beg hard enough your dreams come true. Hopefully he doesn't go out and test ride another 85cc bike and break his leg again.......would hate to see him lose another title that way. If he can stay off those little bikes......who knows?......maybe he can sand bag himself into another title? I think both AC and RV will be gone.....soooo.......should be safe. Whistling
Bru, a win is a win regardless of by how far. RV is smart enough to and knows that.

As much as I would like to see him whip KTM and their apple muncher I doubt it's going to be that easy. Damage control...for Villo. Its going to be hard to beat AC222 in his back yard.

Rv will do well at the flyaway rounds like quatar. Wouldnt be surprised to see him win there. I think cairoli will be in a league of his own in the sand. Will be very close at the hardpack/more euro style tracks between paulin, jvh, desalle, big ken, toni and rv... i expect some great racing and paulin to take the title.. Hopefully herlings will race the last few rounds in nx1 too

I'm starting to think that RV could potentially have a "Perfect Season."

A MXGP Perfect Season wouldn't be as impressive as when RC or James did it here, but it would still be pretty cool for RV; especially since it's his last year.

I hope that the racing is a lot closer than that. You know, so it's actually worth watching.

MXGP series is not listed, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perfect_season!!!!

On the other hand.... if perfect season can occur in MXGP, then there are lot's of riders having an imperfect season.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperfect_season
