Guy needs to be replaced! It was crappy what Reed did, but didn't deserve the flag and a majority of his peers agree. Saw Steve Cox's Twitter post saying he saw John joking about it with flag gets after the race, very unprofessional.

He just set a stupid precedent.

Are there going to be black flags for everything now? How about reviewing it after the race and not in the heat of the moment. Inconsistent.

Reed made a dipschitt move. Canard was pulling a tear off and Reed almost blows him into the other lane of the track. Would you feel different if Canard was hit that little bit harder and landed on the other part of the track and then got landed on?Canard should have seen the squeeze from Reed coming but he was racing, he made an oops and paid for it. So it's ok for Reed to just steer into Trey and cause him to crash? Steve Cox is a good writer but way too biased for a journalist......it's his opinion or it's his opinion period...

From the video replay I saw, canard had plenty of time to hit the brakes or avoid the tuff block. Reeds response was shitty, but canard is a professional and could had avoided the block in my opinion. My main point is, if John is going to call that on Reed, Hanny, Webb, and Bowers should had all been black flagged last night. He shouldn't pick the guys at random to throw the book at, unprofessional on johns part.

If you can't tell the difference between a block pass and intentionally running someone off the track, then I don't know what to tell you.

It wasn't a block pass and Canard wasn't racing. He was still trying to get himself organized so he could try and charge back up. I didn't noticed the tear off part until Emig mentioned it but he might not have even seen Reed coming if his hand was up there in the way.

As for the black flag here's another perspective I thought about this morning. I'm not saying Gallagher was thinking this but.....if they planned to dock his points for that race and they already knew it, why not black flag him and eliminate the possibility of a guy who's not scoring points, hindering anyone else on the track? Let's say he made his way back up to 12th place. Everyone behind him were not going to get that one point added to their points for the series. Seems to make more sense if you look at it that way. Again, I don't know if that had anything to do with it. Didn't hurt my feelings he got the DQ but I'm a Dungey/Reed fan.

Now if Trey Canard would've been injured (heaven forbid) and Reed not received the black flag, how many threads would there have been whining 'bout it!

Quality move and bring out that black flag more often I say.

Oh yeah, I'm a Reed, Canard and any other rider who puts his sack out there fan for the record.

You're an idiot, John made a good call, Reed could have caused some real bad damage.

So what you are saying Trey hit the tuff block on purpose so that he would crash and then Reed would get disqualified? Yep, that sounds like a good plan on Trey's part. Or maybe he just likes crashing on purpose? The difference with what Reed did is it wasn't just a racing incident where one guy is just aggressively trying to pass another. He went out of his way to unnecessarily hit Trey.

You obviously missed Hansen running Mcelrath into the tuff blocks...The problem is the inconsistency that the FIM/Gallagher have had so far this year...He's just another egomaniac like Whitlock was. You can't just make up rules as you go...

Sometimes the officials need to set an example to get people back in line. If Reed would've done the elbow in a real corner, he would've been fine. Reed's little elbow as he say's was a pussy move, to a rider not prepared for contact. He noticed Canard with 1 hand on his helmet and took him out.

I listened to Reed's interview. What a liar. He is constantly searching for what to say next and pausing with ah/ums. Reed kept saying he was confused about the black flag and coming up short on jumps the next lap or two. He also says he had no response to Trey calling him a "crybaby", does anyone believe that crap. Reed is one cocky rider, that will be lucky to crack the top 10 this year and going forward.

You obviously have no clue about John and your comparison to Whitlock is absurd.

Reed intentionally endangered another rider, The black flag was warranted.

He didn't even take a second look before making the decision, very unprofesional.

As short as supercross races are, they should let the riders finish and then dock points/positions then. In Nascar or Formula 1 they have a lot longer to look at film and make a decision.

You got to be kidding me. Whose been hurt more in their career, canard or reed?? Canard is a menace on the track and is known for this type of shit. He landed on Morais and made him retire. Gallagor fucked up and should be fired along with canard being suspended

Sure I do....he has been inconsistent with his calls this season so far...yelling at Bowers, no action to Hansen for his blatant takeout of Mcelrath, which by the way was right into the mechanics area, and he got the black flag wrong. He made the call out of emotion and someone in his position cannot do that...maybe the Whitlock comparison was harsh but he sure is heading in that direction

I'm on the fence about what Bowers did , He was talked to and it hasn't happened since. Osborne and Bowers were battling and to me what Reed did was completely different and very dangerous.

And canard couldn't... Him of all people should be more conscience about being landed on.

If he as a professional didn't anticipate reed covering his inside of all people, then he is the issue. He stated in Racer X article that he couldn't put on his "air brakes" when chad jumped to the inside while leading him. When was canard anticipating hitting his brake when he over jumped? He would have landed into reeds line even if reed went wide... And Reed of all people won't check up!

Racing incident yes... CR making a point of it yes.... Malicious is a reach at best!

Gallagher made a quick decision and is now trying to cover his ass.

Oh and for everyone saying Reed changed his line mid air... Please explain how this is possible with elementary physics we should all have an understanding of if we graduated high school.... He jumped to the inside and canard should have anticipated it instead of thing Reed would just do the same thing he did last lap and roll over for him!!!

Hanny was racing for position. Contact in that scenario is completely different. Trey was regrouping after a crash and Chad went way out of his way to hit him. To compare the two shows some serious ignorance.
