Hey Feld. Great job jumping in bed with the FIM. It is several years later but it is finally biting you in the butt. They are about to cost you the sports most popular rider for 2015 season and maybe forever... all over prescribed adderall

The US series should be US series and we should not be beholden to anyone in Europe.

I have sat back and watch this since it was announced it is now DECEMBER and NO NEWS.

I hope others boycott the SX season this year if James is not there. (Your purses have been terrible for years and we have all put up with it b/c you are the only game in town but it has reach a breaking point now)

How is Stewart the sport's most popular rider "ever"? I don't agree with that.

I'll still be watching and going regardless. James definitely adds excitement, but if he's not there, I'm still going to enjoy the racing.

I have a feeling this one is going to get a bit ugly.

I stand by my interpretation of your post. However, it is your post, if you say that was not your intention, then so be it.

I'd argue that Stewart is not the most popular rider, and the series will do just fine without him.

As is everyone. Just stating that I did not say that he was the most popular rider ever... IMO that would be TP199, he bridged the gap to the masses that had no idea what MX was before him...

Not saying the series can't live without him but asking is that what you want?

One rider not being able to race (or being in the state of unknown) has absolutely no effect on whether or not I watch/attend SX events. He's good for the sport, but if he doesn't come back it'll just move on without him.

If Stewart broke the rules gets punished and you can't deal with it that's your problem

There is a great line-up of riders this year, with or without James. If James isn't there, no-one is going to boycott SX. (Well maybe you can team up with raining yellow and start something?)

As I understand it the fault lies with James' camp for not filling out the appropriate forms, therefore he has to accept the consequences. Which he certainly seems to be doing right now. I doubt many real MX fans "want" this to be the case.. racing is always more exciting with James out there.

For sure it's a big mess, but I don't see how it's caused by Feld's affiliation with FIM.
The AMA performs drug testing, too.
It sucks, and I want to see Bubba race too. But it's his own dang fault for not filing a TUE.

By the way, I will not be boycotting:

I agree with a few points #1 the FIM is useless to the SX series.

#2 the offense was in April this is not acceptable to still be in limbo

I think the OP missed on a big point too, the tickets are way to high and the money isn't going to the riders.

If you guys think its Roczen or Dungey that sells more tickets than Reed or Stewart, you're sadly mistaken. Theres a reason why their lines are still the longest...

I see the OP's position as well.

The FIM should not be in bed with the FIM. They bring no value to the table.

How the Stewart situation is being handled is piss poor. I don't care if it's Stewart, Canard, or a privateer, due process must be timely.

I don't disagree with him being punished for breaking the rules.
I disagree with the FIM, WADA, AMAPRO and Feld all sitting around with their thumbs up their asses, as apposed to ruling on Stewart and handing down his punishment.

It shouldn't take this long to look at the facts, and make a decision.

Latest Official announcement from FELD:

We at FELD ENTERTAINMENT have decided to allow JAMES STEWART ride due to dirtdogs36 post on VITAL.
We don't want to lose that one spectator that might possibly attend a SX event.

FELD has stated they see a visible decrease in ticket sales when Stewart is not on the line, so it won't be just him.

Racing is racing no matter who is on the line. If all we had were dudes racing 50s around I'd still watch it. James Stewart isn't the all high and mighty for the series. I don't see how it matters anyway he'll only race half of them at most before he grenades himself anyways. He's just getting them out of the way early.

The hardcore racing fans like you and I like to think we're the majority in this sport when in fact we're far from on it.
Ever watched the commercials for SX and wonder ehy they show more crashes and girls than actual racing?

Well if you are gonna talk the talk you better walk the walk! After all this shit talking you better not even watch the SXs on TV. I bet you will be glued to your TV for A1 just like everyone else you hypocrite.Wink

It doesn't bother me one way or the other. Everybody knew that testing was coming, and someone in Stewart's camp screwed up. End of story. I do think it should have been handled by now, but it hasn't. I don't sweat shit that I can't control, and there are plenty of guys left to line up, who give us plenty of excitement.

Let me ask you this: do you think James gives a shit that I'm up here freezing my nuts off in the patch, and won't be at A1, or any other round? Exactly. Tongue

Enforcement of the rulebook shouldn't take months, it should take a few weeks. James is a victim of cowardly leaders who don't appear to have the backbone to enforce the rules they wrote. Using wada as the final authority is a great example of shifting the liability and avoiding the heat that comes with making a decision that might be unpopular. Cowardice at the top level of any organization will always result in lost credibility...

But I'll still be at every race I can make!

I think this will be a great benefit to the sport when 7 finally retires. If all his fans would just go away , the collective IQ will take quite a jump. No one understands less or appreciates less what mx and sx are all about than the typical 7 fan. So from all of us ,to all of you. C-ya!!
