Bell Moto 9 Sizing

Does anyone know if the shell on a Bell Moto 9 is the same for medium and large sizes with just the difference being the pads or is the shell actually different?

We are looking to pick up a new one from BTO Sports as they are having a killer sale on multiple helmets right now. My son is currently wearing a medium (57-58) Fox helmet right now and I run a large Shoei VFX which is a bit too big for him.

The moto 9 fits on the small size. I wear a small in most helmets and with the moto 9 i wore a medium

i have had all of the helmets you mentioned.
I had Medium in all of them aswell but i think i may have had thinner cheek pads in the moto 9 as they are super tight around the cheeks when new.

I asked the same question on here a couple years ago. I forgot the answer. I think the med and large have the same shell tho.

I believe there are 3 different shells and the rest is made up with cheek pad thickness.

Yes. Med. and large share same shell. There new sizing is smaller, years ago. I had a medium in moto 8.........now I where an XL. I have worn a large in everything for the most part for the record.

Shit. Bought a new moto 9 yesterday, have a large in TLD,FLY. Kinda assumed the same size and the size charge had me in between sizes.. I'm a 23.75 , XL started at 24"

Like stated above. buy one size bigger in the moto 9. i wear an xl but had to buy the xxl to fit my fat head. other wise love the helmet.

Large and medium are same shell. XL and XXL are the same shell as well. If a XL is to small you can order the XXL pads from bell or any local dealer can order them for you. Same goes for the medium/large.

I wear a size L Shoei and I found that the Bell Moto 9 that I tried on fit perfect in the same size. I was surprised how nice it felt, it's on my short list for my next helmet.
