Might be ancient news, but...

TWMX dropped this in their post-event report on the MEC regarding what will likely happen should James Stewart suffer punishment from the FIM for the drug-testing fiasco...

"Should a punishment come down, likely a two-year ban, James will retire from professional racing and younger brother Malcolm will fill the vacant spot at Yoshimura Suzuki. We will keep tabs on the matter as we learn more."

Wow! Malcolm Stewart to Team Yoshimura Suzuki? No wonder it's been no news from the Stewart compound in Mookie's plans for 2015 so far.

This "two year ban" thing is funny.

Four games for football players yet, James would get two years???

Think about it, why would they give him a WADA and USADA TUE if they were going to ban him for two years???

Not buying it.

No, not at all.

Just don't see it happening that way.

Honestly...........I think James will be on the line at A1, but I can see Malcolm being the 'Phil Nicoletti' of the Yosh team.

GuyB already reported from MEC that Stewart (James) was cleared to race next year, this is a moot thread.

GuyB didn't actually post that. There was a PR that was released, which stated that his TUE had been accepted. This allows him to go racing using adderall. He still has a hearing this week about the penalty of failing a drug test, which is still holding him from actually competing.

Sorry if I misunderstood the Instagram post. I read that as he couldn't race MEC but was cleared for next year.

Maybe if the riders had a riders association/union/what-have-you, they could collectively bargain their policies similar to the nfl

That would be very smart of them.

And now, for certain things, the NFL is not giving the normal 4 game ban. They bargained for a two game ban and it worked.

The riders union would be of benefit to all. But for some reason they don't want to make it happen.

I think it was worded very poorly.

His TUE was cleared for 2015, BUT he still has a hearing for the other failed test in 2014. SO.....Depending on what they feel is a good punishment, he could race with whatever substance he got the TUE for once they determine the outcome.

Here's an interview I did with Malcolm at MEC. Talks about his plans or lack thereof, paying 20K for the TLD bike, and more. This kid is by far my favorite rider to talk to.

That was a real good and informative interview, thanks! I really hope he gets a ride but nonetheless I will still enjoy watching him on that very good looking seven bike

We will find out Malcolms future as soon as we hear the outcome of james situation. I Think he will be a fill in rider if james is suspended. If he isn't he will ride as a privateer

James Stewart will be on the line at A1. It wouldn't suprise me at all for Webb & Yoshimura to work something out as far as support for Malcolm on a Suzuki for 2015.

I figured this would happen, granted nothing is set in stone. People were trying to tell me I was crazy...(http://www.vitalmx.com/forums/Moto-Related,20/Where-is-Malcolm-Stewart-for-2015,1276376)

he's cleared to race with the TUE for next year DEPENDING ON THE RESULTS OF THE HEARING from his failed drug test.

I thought it was said that he could have raced the MEC if he wanted...and he wasn't being "held from actually competing"

Don't scream here but... It really doesn't make sense. He's cleared to race, but that depends. Doesn't one cancel out the other? How can he be cleared for anything if it is dependent?

I wish James could sue everyone involved that started and allowed all this stupid crap. That includes those promoters (promoter) in the US and abroad.
