Live, at the track, it's a pretty damn impressive thing to see.
TG,

Was that the young man that ate it big time endo? Both wrists? AND a FEmur?

Geez, long days ahead for him!

Not to look forward to.

Don't they keep the wheels on the ground though?

Pussy alert!!! That's the opportunity. Those kids are ready. Look at Forkner, he's the next Adam and if it wasn't for this race, nobody would even know him on the big scale! One pile up and they're not ready??? Put your purse down!

Fro, button ect did the same deal on wide world of sports at Carlsbad at 55 mph on square edge blue groove at the sane age ...what's scarier?

Casey Keast, lives 1 mile from me up here in Canada.... Two-time Canadian champion. He hasn't seen a triple for a set of whoops since this time last year at this race. But he still got out there, got a few hole shots, and put himself on the map with the seventh overall. Without this race, nobody outside of our country would even know who he is. Maybe because six guys crashed, his dream of being a professional racer should be thrown under the bus? I hate vital Nubes, they sound so fucking stupid!

I guess some us dont like seeing kids get hurt.
No one questions the kids speed, talent or ability but throwing young lads on to a full size sx track with half the power, less travel of the big bikes its almost inevitable that some one is going to end up hurt.

Seems more pros and amatures crashed than minis, scrap them as well? My aussie lads first ever super mini race, got 8th, loved it and we learnt so much and can set so much training for next year, very valuable day.thankyou USA.

If you get the invite, it is pretty safe to say you are a top tier rider who has enough experience to ride the track.

How you handle the pressure of that chance to ride, will be second guessed by the Vitard community, none of whom could do any better.

I don't see a problem with these kids racing at this event. They are all very experienced racers and handled it just fine for the most part. EVERYONE crashes so that point is moot.

I'd rather see that boring-assed whip contest scrapped than the Superminis. That was hard to watch......so I didn't.

I agree that this is an amazing chance for the guys on the super minis. ... They would probably all get together and vandalize your house for saying it should go away. And from a viewing stand point, I actually enjoyed watching the kids nail everything on the track and race each other more then I did the pros(well, last race was pretty exciting). It's amazing how smooth those kids are, how much talent and technique they have, and how flipping fast those super minis are!!!! Definitely a far cry from the mini bikes most of us grew up riding!!

X1000 - seeing whips/scrubs during a race, cool. Watching guys go single file throwing whips and hitting the rev limiter for 15 minutes, not so cool

I don't get how they promote the road to supercross and then throw 12 year olds on a supercross course.
This was my thought as well. I'm not saying that these guys aren't talented. They are truly exceptional on a bike and could blow me away on a track. I'm just saying there's a difference between hucking the local 100 footer and a steep, unforgiving supercross triple. I just don't think a kid that young should be put in a position where he could kill himself if he makes a small mistake or misjudgment.

In my opinion it looked to me the All Star race was more sketchy and had more carnage and dudes hitting the ground then the Super Mini's.

^^^^^ The Super mini racing was great! I think it would be cool to see them race in sx to. Those kids and their parents know the dangers.... nobody is forcing them to race.
The only bad thing the kids next race bike is a 250f but again they know their not playing checkers.

So I take it the OP has never heard of Amateur day for Sx. Thats when you grab the popcorn.

You know from 96-2003ish Mini O's sx track was pretty wicked. Kids, Adolescents and Adults alike were being carted off the track. I broke my arm in that event on a 65. Still loved that event. And I still wanted to race it at the time. (Of course i'm not comparing the two tracks MEC and mini O's.)

Let the kids decide if they want to do it or not. If they're invited let them race. They're talented. RC even said he wasn't going that fast when he was an 80. Most of these kids are 15 and ready to take the next step or already are riding 125s. Hell some of them even practice on sx tracks at these full time training facilities.

All of them got up after that red flag last night with exception of one. They lined back up to the gate. So they wanted to be there. Let them race.

What would replace it?
125 two stroke race for 14yo and over

It's not the jump distances, it's the poor track design with horrible landings. An experienced track builder knows roughly where the pros will land on a given jump or can at least watch it during the previous days practice. I can understand on a pro SX event being big. It's more of an issue when this is happening on local podunk tracks around the country.

Changing what happens between where the pros launch and land has absolutely no effect on them, but some track builders think it's cooler for spectators to see razor sharp landings and steep vertical backsides on the landings. Changing the shape of the back side of a landing DOES make the difference between a mini/vet rider bottoming hard and riding away versus going to the hospital.

It takes the less skilled about 4 tries at a new jump before they figure out what gear to be in and at least 2 of them will be short.
So if you are a local expert and kids are braking on jump faces right in front you, check to see if something in fly-over country really is too dangerous.

I think this sport needs to get rid of the people that think everything is to dangerous.
