Just wanted to put my 2 cents in on this event too. Really, really well done. Great job by Red Bull. It is amazing that an energy drink company can do something like this so well and yet its such a pain in the ass to stream both motos at a national.

LOL!!! Same thing happened to me.

Agree with all of the above, So easy and picture perfect. Stopped my ride short so I could get home and start figuring out how I was going to hook up a stream, then hope it wasn't like every stream cast of the SX/MX season. Glued to the broadcast the whole time, Thanks Red Bull.......

Coverage and stream was great, as expected from Red Bull... they always have their shit together! Maybe the odd short break would have been nice though, as machine said above, didn't even have time to take a leak Laughing

I was sooo stoked to find it online....live....for FREE!! Awesome job RedBull! The quality and ease of viewing should set a standard for all the other wanna be promoters.

Format was really cool...where else could you root for Josh Hansen vs. Pastrana or James Stewart?

It was an awesome event, better than i thought it would be, loved the stream too with almost no downtime. However I think alot of you arent looking at this from an objective standpoint.

TV coverage is still seen as being essential to the legitamacy of the sport. AMA roadracing was broadcast on internet stream this year with no tv coverage and it was seen as a joke. Gncc coverage and most of DCs racertv.com broadcasts are streamed online then a highlight show is put together for some tv channel (I forget which). This is a good model for these sports which are not as widely followed, and it still gets out on tv in some capacity. I personally love internet broadcasts and regularly tune into the online streams that racertv provides, i wish i could have watched the gnccs like i did today when i was 13 and Scott Summers was tearing them up. However according to the screen icon that showed the number of viewers today (i was using livestream android app) there were barely 1000 viewers at a time. You have to be a hardcore fan to tune in online and thats not good for making money from sponsors.

Redbull didnt have to sell commercials for their event. There were only 4 sponsors on the backdrop: redbull, dodge dart, polaris razor and gopro.

I dont like the level of exclusivity that MX Sports and Feld have for their TV contracts but i do understand their reasoning for having them. They have worked hard for their sponsors and im sure the tv contract is a big part of those agreements.

In a perfect world i would love to watch every race streaming free and cree of commercials, but the reality is that wont happen. I will however keep watching the cool media redbull puts out even though i dont drink the stuff. I have respect for how they do things and am geniunely a fan of theirs.
