Well he's right (although Brayton did put in a damn good effort.) Yes Hanny pushed him in that run.. because James made several mistakes including missing the quad at the start. With the mistakes he made Hanny really should have won that one but of course James blew by him in the whoops. Did you see their first run? Nothing against Hanny, I'm a fan, but really he isn't close to James' speed.

Sure do. but I'm saying lets not judges someone's speed off of the straight rhythm event.

Really bro? Has Devin ever personally done anything to you to warrant that comment? To me, dudes got a bad rap that's not warranted. He's pure moto and I can respect that if nothing else? There are lots of other dudes here that deserve the heckling more than Devin does! Let the pack mentality go...

I think Hansen's weakness on an SX track are the Whoops.

Im not saying he is the slowest through them but normally tall guys tend to be quicker at them, he seems to be a little intimated by them.

I was really hoping he would pull it off too!
Covered implies a higher level of speed. James had Hanny covered big time (run 1)..but made a bunch of mistakes (in run 2)...then passed him at the end.

But Hanny did look good for a guy out of the sport for a while. Contender? No...but he could be a solid rider worthy of a decent ride. If he gets fit, and is visible at the S. CA SX tracks pounding out long motos and looking fit, a fill in ride will turn up. Guys always get hurt in Dec....

Exactly...the most important factors in SX are #1 the whoops....and #2 the corners. Doing crazy combos only comes into play on a few tracks. Most tracks ALL the riders end up doing the same combos. What were the tracks in 2014 where there were combos only a few riders did? Oakland...and Toronto?

Contender in the Lites, I'd say.

Did you sweet dudes know that plastic fender pioneer and two-wheeled legend Preston Petty is Hansen's maternal grandfather?

Anyone talking shit about his whoop speed are idiots

There is not a single sx next year or any year where there will be whoops like that. 5th gear going probably 50 mph in and exiting closer to 60! That shit was sketchy and unless you were Brayton a Stewart or Pastrana than yeah you were gonna let off going in. Doesn't mean anything except he valued his health a lot more than Brayton stewys or tp.. Although Brayton is just a beast in the whoops and didn't get squirrelly once I don't think.

Wow those whoops look way smaller on the tube.

So, are you seriously saying that Hanny can match Stew, Brayton and Davi on "normal" whoops?

Nope, show me where I said that? Second I didn't even say anything about davi or imply hanny was a god in the whoops. Third is he racing any of the riders you listed next year? No

If you don't see that those were not normal whoops and they do not have whoops like those in sx you are a fucktard

Apparently you failed to watch Toronto last year...

Or any SX in the late 90s to early 2000's.

Grieby's had a hard on for D. Davis since Davis started posting here years ago as a 16-17 year old kid. He always has something negative to say to someone.

No I'm pretty sure I watched Toronto, apparently you need to go watch it again because the whoops started after a straight up straight down little double they hit at about 20. Not to mention they were rutted and not even so most dudes were jumping through.

Oh, and there's a fucking 180 bowl turn 40 feet after the last whoop, the fastest dude probably never broke 40 so what do the two whoop sections have in common at all??

What the hell was the point of that link either? I'm not discussing the size of them, im discussing the entry and exit speeds.

Have a good day
10/7/2014 9:07am
Slow entry makes whoops more dangerous and harder...not easier. You also said anyone talking about Hanny's whoop speed is an 'idiot'. Then you acknowledge Hanny can not ride the whoops as fast as the best guys? Do you think there is no one in Lites who will ever again posses top level skills in the whoops? BS. So if Hanny is not the best in the whoops, how is it idiotic to talk about that? It is a factor.... Have a good day.

Super impressed with how well he did at straight rhythm, especially with his win over Metcalfe, Pastrana, & how hard he pushed James. I honestly didn't think he was going to be as competitive as he was.

Is fitness the main hurdle he has to overcome in SX to be competitive? I know there weren't any turns yesterday, but in SX I think he could be mediocre at turning and still do well. In the last Hanny episode, it sounded like he didn't even have a fitness base that most athletes have and is starting from the bottom

Seems like his problem is discipline and dedication. It isn't skill.
