Oh I love how atheists who obviously haven't spent time actually studying the bible always like to talk about the parts that fit there argument. You do realize the laws you are talking about were done away with when Jesus died right? Go read the bible cover to cover ( don't tell me you have because it's obvious you haven't) and then we can have an educated discussion. Until then let's all, regardless of religious beliefs, appreciate what a class act Trey is. Get well soon Buddy!!
I have read the entire thing cover to cover, but I'm also not interested in interpretations until they can be shown to be true. That is the funny thing about the bible...you can make it say almost anything you want it to.

How about this, start by getting christians to agree on jesus, first You do realize there are many denominations of christianity that will tell you that you are wrong. They will tell you that jesus never made any new laws or commandments, and that pretty much the entire sermon on the mount was about how he upholds the old testament. So when your denomination, and all of the other 30,000 come to an agreement on that, I will listen to you tell me how wrong I am about it. I'm guessing that you will still accept the 10 commandments, however, which are in the old testament.

Until then, the bible is very descriptive about slave beating.

Exodus 21:20-21New International Version (NIV)

20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result, 21 but they are not to be punished if the slave recovers after a day or two, since the slave is their property.

I'm proud to be a huge fan, it's too bad every time there is a post about how good of a person he is, the jackasses come out from under their rocks.

Here's a hint, If you aren't Christian, we don't need to hear about it, keep it to yourselves. Just say he's a good person and move the hell on.

Great job raising him mom!!

X2....Trey was raised by some good people...and it shows..

When a title says "What separates Trey Canard" and people answer Jesus or his faith, can't you see how that implies that those who don't believe in those things aren't capable of being equally compassionate? That's what some of us have an issue with. We all think Trey is an amazing guy and nobody said he shouldn't follow what believes in. I'm just saying that the idea that religion or faith is what separates a great person and the rest of us is patently false, and myself and Wood aren't the ones who brought the divisiveness.

I don't care what your religion or philosophy is, but if it inspires you to treat others with as much love, respect, and service and Trey does, then PLEASE continue doing it.

Trey is the whole package when it comes to being a professional athlete. He hauls ass, shows heart, works hard, seems like a genuinely great guy, and practices what he preaches. Nothing but absolute appreciation and respect for the guy.

I don't think anyone really said that did they? I know some great people and they don't follow the bible either. I've known people who followed it religiously and they were some of the biggest crooks I have ever dealt with in a business aspect.

Religious and non-religious groups both have bad people. Nobody gets a visa gold card on life. Just be a good person , no matter what you believe in.

Jesus helps people be kinder, and to grow as a person. When I became a Christian at 17, I started to excel way beyond where I was previously. I have friends who don't have a relationship with Jesus who are are super compassionate and kind, and successful. So I'm not saying people aren't kind without Jesus, just that Jesus helps people to be kinder.

I'm not trying to twist anything. Tell me how "what separates Trey (from who then?) is Jesus or his faith" should be taken? I make a simple point while congratulating Trey for his awesomeness and it's amazing how defensive and angry some people become. You're right it's not about me, there are a whole lot of others who feel the same way.

I'm rooting for Trey to win the C-ship in SX 2015. If not him, I'd like to see Reed take it.

Some of you guys never seem to amaze me.

Trey Canard is good people because he was raised by good people that taught him respect. The bible helped shape this great young man we see today. It has guided him down a righteous path in life but his family and life's tests have made him the man he is.

I really hope he writes a book after racing. I know if or when I have children I will use Trey Canard to help shape them.

I always root for Trey and I hope he wins a ton next year but you know even if he never wins another race he has already proven he is a winner in life. That is all that counts.

you share a lot of the same qualities BQ. I saw it first hand at panic rev Washougal this year with the group of kids my son was with this summer. those kids really admired you and it wasn't just for your skills on the bike but the person you were.
Thanks a lot! I appreciate that!

all the non-christians are jackasses, crawling out from under rocks, who need to keep their opinions to themselves.

Trey is one of those very rare people on this earth where you see what he does, hear what he says, watch how he behaves, know what he's been though and just realize...there is not another soul on this earth like him. I love the kid and I have never even met him !!! when he won that overall, with god as my witness I had a tear in my eye.

That all said, when the gate drops he is the most bad ass, fearless intimidating rider on the track !! No one is mentioning him much for 2015 Supercross....but I HONESTLY view him as the favorite.
