His ISDE performances have been pretty good and he seems to be going quicker all the time. I think he'll get there for sure!

None of those test are 3hrs long. It's a much different format.

No doubt he'll do well in the National Enduros right away though.

I really hoped he was going to come in Europe to give EWC a try. Renet told me he's VERY fast.

BTW, i didn't take long for Salminen or Knighter to figure out GNCC. Just saying.

Ya but Salminen and Knight didn't have to deal with Russell, Mullins, Ashburn, and Strang. Those guys are seriously fast for 3 solid hours.....

Yes Whibs is still riding for Yamaha presently. Randy Hawkins doesn't give up on guys that got a little older or got injured. If you like, I can ask Paul who he's riding for next year, as I'll be at Powerline Park, and I've known him since his Suzuki days.

They had to deal with current GNCC riders of their time, who were already 3 hours specialist... It's like saying JMB didn't have to deal with with RC. True, but he still had Stanton and Bradshaw.

Good luck to the guy, I'm sure he is fast, But GNCC is a different animal than ISDE, and Mullins and Russell are in a league of there own right now, I hope Milner does great, Just somebody else for me to root for ! But those guys are riding at an insane level for the entire 3 hours ! BTW If you haven't been to a GNCC race and have a chance too, You need to !

Yeah he will do well right away. It's no secret riders from the "other countries" have a good track record against us in the offroad division. David knight, Juha Salimen, Paul whibley, etc. I'm not saying he will win right off the bat, but he will definitely do really well most weeks (top 5 for the majority of races). And for everyone saying he will struggle with the 3 hour race format...... get real, he's a world class athlete. He will be preparing for the next 6 months. He will be ready for 3 hours.

I'd add andrew delong into that group. I never said Milner will win. In fact I said he'd be top 5. But I wouldn't be surprised if he does win a few rounds by the end of the year.

KRussel gets off the bike after 3 hours and looks as if he hasn't even broken a sweat. Dude is seriously bad.
I do hope the Aussie runs well though...the more competition the better.

Yeah you guys are probably right, always so correct with your knowledge on aussie riders. Just like when a few of you said Matt moss wouldn't even make the night show in sx.

In the Australian off-road championships we have a mixture of cross country 3/4hour races as well as times sprints. So it's not like he is unfamiliar with the format and he showed his outright speed at the isde last year. I think he'll be a contender and turn some heads

If I were a betting man (which I am) would have to go with Hawkins decision. Yea I know a thing or two about Randy's rationale as I'm sure he's tired of seeing that orange bike in front of his blue ones. No disrespect to Kailub at all as he's earned my and quite a few others respect with his consistent drumming of the XC1 class, after bad starts and all. When I hired Randy to race the RMX in its first season after he had not won a national enduro event my logic was questioned but after the first event all doubters were silenced as he went on to win 6 national enduro titles for Suzuki. As far as using the ISDE special test scores for rationale in hiring an off road rider, I don't believe that criteria alone would warrant Randy's decision but would definitely weigh on the positive side. The press release says he will ride the last two events in 2014 so in two weeks we should get a preview of whats to come!! Looking forward to seeing blue on the podium!!

Look for a Aussie winner in both the XC1 class and the Women's class in the next couple of rounds Smile

Gringoe, I would add Milner's name to that list of riders to win a XC1 championship in the coming years and if Toby Price had a full time ride ride in the GNCC I would add his name to the list!

Though I have a feeling we will see him winning Dakar in the next couple of years

Kailub and Charlie have been racing these tracks for the last 14 years some have changed and the layout is different, but that's counts for something.

Knowing kailub he loves a good fight! Should be exciting!
