Hey guys, I'm thinking about picking up an 06 RM 250 with very low hours on it, but not sure if this is a good deal or not. The bike has just been completely gone through, and includes a new hinson cluch set up, new exhaust, chain, sprockets, skid plate, oversize front rotor, carbon fiber guards, ti-footpegs, and a few other new trick parts. The guy wants $3700 for the bike... what do you think a fair price would be? I'm thinking about picking it up, but I already have a YZ250 same year, and a newer RMZ450, but I'm a big fan of Suzuki, and this bike is calling my name.
The bike also comes with the original RC plastic which looks in almost new condition, the bike has supposed only had the top end changed once, and currently has 2 hours on the new piston, and has basically just collected dust in someones garage until recently. The bike has new FC re-valved suspension, which is actually already set-up for my weight, so that's a plus, and a new PC linkage arm, and bearings. I saw the pictures before the bike had been gone through, and the bike looked really clean. If it looks as good in person, I'm tempted to buy it...even though I have 2 other bikes in the garage that already don't get ridden enough, but it will at least look nice.

Funny that I had an 06 I could only get 2200 out of in 2007...then bought another low hour one in 2012 and had to pay 3000. Suzuki needs to bring them back.
I had cash in hand on what I wanted to pay up front, or w/ extras. How far would you drive to check/ pick up?

Do your research, 04-08 RM's are about the same, and come w/ showa suspension.
Have them send you pics of the bike, close-ups of the wheels, cases, frame, top of swingarm, etc (unless their close to you)
- do they have the pink for it/ Current Registration?
I paid 2k for mine about an hr away. Listed at $2200, he sent me many pics,and a video of it, etc = motivated seller

Note now I know they have weak clutch and sensitive to what tranny fluid you use. I'd recommend Honda HP or Type F- ATF!!!

Revalve, plastics (including using extra spare rmz), new oem top end, new oem clutch pack & springs from ebay for $40, graphics, new front tire, 10oz ffw, etc

I paid a little more than what I wanted to....BUT , I was willing to pay $3000.00 from a guy I know , than something like $2500.00 from someone I didn't know. You can find some surprises buying used bikes from people you don't know or trust. Fwiw.....I haven't even been able to ride it yet. Lost my whole summer due to injury , but plan on trying to ride the weekend after next.
