The whole family can ride and i can rebuild any of them for under 500.00 and they are all the bikes we will ever need.

Amen to both of your comments. This thread is filled with ignorance. I used to think "a dirt bike was a dirt bike" and "why can't we all just get along?", but Vital MX has literally made me hate two strokes and the majority of two stroke riders.

I have a question for you 2 stroke slappys though.... if your 10 yr old 2 stroke is so great, or the brand new four strokes are too expensive, then why do you care what the manufacturers sell off the dealership floors? You're not buying them anyway.

Peace out. I'm headed to the dealership with a smile on my face to buy my second brand new 4 stroke. #thumpthumpthump
Huh. Well on that note, go fuck yourself. Signed, a guy who has three 2 strokes, and one grenaded F-bomb.

Good in theory but to compare your 2 stroke to a new kawy is kinda funny. i love both types of bikes but that 2 stroke is a old 2 stroke, nothing wrong with that.

I wouldn't trade it for a four stroke and I am sure they are great but I like the sound and smell along with the ease of maintenance.
I could not go any faster on any other bike. I am riding to my ability now.

Also the 99-07 are pretty much the same in the 2 strokes.

250 cc two strokes should be able to run in the 250 f class and 250 cc up to 500 cc should be able to run in the 450 f class........It wont"t happen but it should.

Which is a great theory. Why people can't understand that, I'll never know.

Too funny.

I agree. I don't think it will ever happen, but I think it would be so cool to hear both kinds of bikes out there.

2 brand new four strokes? I did that too, a decade ago. That's all it took to make me realize the errors of my ways and back to the planet Premixia I went. I do enjoy a high strung 250F though. Right up until they scatter in grand damn fashion!Woohoo

Manufacturers will never go back to 2-strokes because the 4-strokes are easier to ride. Look at this, even quad riders can ride a 4-stroke:
Bet you'd never see that on a 2-stroke, haha.

Now that is a great lineup! I run a 500 for hill climbing and have even taken it to the track a few times. Mine is an 01 still in the steel frame, but I still think it rides great regardless. Seems like the motors are very versatile, we just threw a large flywheel weight on and it is a very usable motor! And nope, nothing sounds better!

You only have 11 posts.... maybe back off

These two bikes are both made by Yamaha and have equal displacement. Which one do you want to ride?

Point taken, I was wrong to suggest that four strokes are superior race bikes and that is why manufacturers will never* go back to two strokes. Having read the other replies it would seem those posts are far more accurate than the 11 post squidshow.

I was never that great of a rider. When I used to ride, my 04 CRF250 just made it more fun. If there's any better reason
to pick a specific bike I don't know of it. And with the frequency that I was able to ride I was not going to become a better rider.
