What? Besides RD , Kenny , Trey and Eli.....what other rider has bounced around inside the top 5 just as much or more than Weston? That's in either SX and MX. Sure Metty and Short have done well , but they have been in these positions for a very long time. Weston is pretty much beating the rest , even with that bad race last weekend.

You're not getting it!

I'll spell it out for you here.......the guys I mentioned and Barcia have all been groomed up through factory teams. They are placing right where they should be. And out of those guys.....have any of them dug through the trench's in the privateer ranks to not only beat "most " of them on quite a few occasions ? name one other privateer in the last 2 - 3 yrs that has ran the factory boys as hard as Weston has. Name another one of those guys that didn't have some kind of step up through the LL's AM's ( or another countries racing program )

Maybe he won't ever have the Eli Tomac , or Kenny Roczen speed.......but Christ man....not many dudes do! He's not only shown that he can run with them on more than a few occasions....but the dude is DURABLE! He just keeps going! ALL teams look at guys like that because even if he's racing around between 4th - 10th..he gets TV time! RC even said that he digs Weston because he has a " never say die attitude! "

Maybe you should call up team JGR and explain to them that they are making a mistake. You know....since you know the inner dealings of all the factory teams , how they are run and their budget.....at least that's the way you come across.

You got guys sitting out right now with suspect type excuses.....and yet someone like Weston can eat shit and face plant into a huge double in SX.....cough up blood for two days strait....and be back testing the damn bike on Tuesday morning and race next weekend! If that aint determination I don't know what is!

Who has more potential, Weston or Tickle?
Who's going to make it to the race every week? And outdoors Weston. Indoors.....I've seen Weston beat Tickle more times than not. I'd pick Weston any day of the week.

I dont even know the story, but is Tickles contract up for 2015? If not, completely understandable as to why Weston doesn't land a spot there. If it is up, he deserves it 100%

All of these "groomed" riders paid their dues one way or another. Nothing has been handed to anybody.

I think that Peick is a good rider but a rider like Pourcel is out there and you hear nothing about any good teams talking to him.

I have seen many of 250Fs beat a 450 to the first turn so Weston's weight is not going to be that bad. All else equal it will make a small difference but not a major difference. I hope he gets a good ride no matter what color bike it is.

We'll said. It's not just the parents who make the sacrifices in this sport. A groomed rider doesn't automatically float to the top. I'll bet thay have to work hard too.

I agree with everything you said, but it doesn't change the fact that he wont beat the top 5 on a consistent basis.

Don't get me wrong, he is a great rider, better then I ever was, but he isn't what everyone thinks he is. Everyone goes on and on about all how all he needs is a bike and support and he will magically have the talent to run in the top 5, he doesn't. At 23 years old, he isn't getting any faster then he currently is, sure he can clean up his riding and training by being on a team, but he wont gain top 5 speed.

Always going to be haters.... Everyone is entitled to their opinion and you have yours. There's plenty of eating crow on this site in the other threads, you'll have yours soon enough. Don't get me wrong, right now there are the guys that are riding at the next level and can beat Weston more often than not, but Weston will be in for a top 5 in the points at the end of the season. You can count on that ........ And that is MY OPINION !Cool

I don't hate the guy at all, I'm just a realist. He wont be in the top 5 in points, and I'll bet on that.

If you hire a rider by his resume, Tickle is the logical choice.

RCH couldn't afford to pay Weston, after breaking the bank on Roczen. If Tickle does end up staying @ RCH, it'll be for a fraction of what he was making last year. I have nothing against Tickle, but he hadn't exactly set anything on fire, since getting on the 450. You need to finish the SX or MX series without getting hurt, Tickle has had a problem with that in the past.

I don't see Peick paycheck being larger than Tickles. It's possible though, finicky sport and all.

Mom.....That was no disrespect towards Trey at all....you should know that! I know Trey has been through hell with the injuries and the kid is a one in a million when it comes to be tough , durable and a never give up attitude. There have been guys whom we call legends in this sport , that have walked away from it all.....with 1/2 the injuries that Trey has seen. AND.....Trey is still fighting for wins.

What I'm saying is.....as far as bikes , teams , and money coming in.....Trey has pretty much been on factory equipment since he got out of the AM's. Weston didn't get that opportunity to do that. He was basically thrown right into a pool of sharks and told to swim. They both had two completely different path's getting them to where they are now. And by all means I'm not saying one was easier than the other.

I know you didn't mean any disrespect; none taken. I'm just saying that all of the top riders went through the same thing, just a few years earlier. Wasn't referring to injuries, but biting and scraping for everything.

Total agreement

Peick has pissed all over several of the more (supposed) 'factory' racers this year at a lot of the races

Yes but really what has Tickle done in comparison ? Not a great deal in Sx or outdoors. He's had a While on the Suzuki and in that team, I'm not convinced Tickle is a great deal better than Weimer, they both seem to be really struggling and it's not going to get easier for them.

I spoke to Roger DeCoster at Ironman and asked him if he had any new riders for next season. He just said "Weston" and turned and walked away...

In my opinion, Roczen, Dungey, Reed, Canard, Tomac, Barcia, Wilson, Seely, Anderson, Brayton, and Millsaps will all be better than Weston in supercross. That's eleven guys already. That being said, Weston has still been very impressive and he still deserves a factory ride.

Tickle only takes a pay cut if he didn't have a multi-year deal already.

exactly. to write him off at 23 years old is laughable. he already has top 5 speed and has shown it several times. consistency is the next step and being on the right team is what will get him there, imo.....
maybe you have a crystal ball and know more than RC?

I agree , that's what ive been trying to say. theres enough teams out there that a rider of his caliber should be able to hold down a ride. how many riders are really able to consistently get win or championships? its very few
I disagree with you. Their isn't close enough to be enough teams out there. Besides the 5 factory teams, you got jgr450s, Star 250fs, pc 250s, geico 250fs, where else is he gonna go if no factory teams grabs him that has a budget that he needs to compete on? Take Monster and Geico away and we would probably be 2 more teams that will fold eventually because of no outside sponsorship dollars...
