I'm excited to see him race in the US! Maybe we can see both motos on TV instead of just the second one?

After watching Budds Creek and then the Finland GP it's really apparent how the 2 series can differ, the US tracks are much faster, streched out and flowing, smoother too although the turns get real rutted,it might take Herlings a bit of setting up

He's going to attract a lot of attention at Unadilla so If there's a chance of getting some extra laps in I'm sure he'd take it but it's all down to his schedule I guess

I can't wait for Unadilla. Unfortunately it's almost a month away! I'm really hoping our AMA boys can give him a warm welcoming, by cleanly beating him.... but I'm not sure that's going to happen. Jeffrey is insanely fast and it's going to be a real challenge for anyone to be at him.

It's hard to tell how he'll do but if you took the top 10 in Europe and the top 10 in the USA, put them on the same USA track. Herlings would be the only Euro in the top 10. The rest of the MX2 riders are on a Sunday cruise. Not that I think the Euro MX2 riders aren't good but there's zero intensity compared to here. Which Roczen and Musquin found out when they got here.

I think Jeffrey is a cocky snotface kid BUT I respect his skills. RV is the fastest man in the world and I don't think he is cocky so it can be done. Jeffrey is insanely talented....not sure how much he trains but he has JLAW like skills.....I think he could be completely hungover come race day and still wax the field.....

Herlings needs to gain 5 more point on his competition in the next 2 rounds to become world champion again. (By the end of Lommel round). I can't see any issues at all in this happening. So there is no risk to his series. Nothing to lose.

For the record I am a big fan of Baggetts racing. But without a holeshot I don't see any rider beating him, Can't wait. Should be interesting.

He's known for training like a madman, mostly on the bike. Think Mark Barnett in the early 80's...

On the last Pulp MX podcast with Johnny O Mara, he talked about how Herlings slaughtered the field at a race, only to find out that he had no practice bike for Monday. Everyone including Everts told him to relax, to just take a day off. Herlings went to a local KTM dealer, bought a new 350 and did his practice session anyway! Dude is a beast.

I've watched ever GP this season and it aint gonna matter what track he rides or mud race.

The guy is better than CP ever was,and he is a freak of nature.

With a good start he can win.

I'm not so sure he will win I think the flat out intensity may catch him out if it was a rough technical track he'd be winning by 20 seconds

I agree. Or if it rains and it gets rutted like a year or two ago when everyone were complaining the track got too rough. It made it more technical and slowed the pace down. The GP riders seemed to do better in those conditions.

I think Jeffrey coming over here is one of the cooler and more interesting stories of the summer, and I am sure he picked Unadilla because of the schedule. If he had a choice, I am pretty sure he would have picked Millville -- watching him today in Finland was a reminder of just how blindingly fast he is in the sand -- over Unadilla, for the exact reason Jeff 801 gave above. Still, he's going to be a real handful, as well as the wild card, because by that point it's looking like Martin and Baggett mayl be focused on each other and the championship.

And like Guy B said, I think he may come early and participate in press day, according to Roger.

Respect to Herlings84 for taking on such a challenge.

I think Baggett could be a handful for Herlings at Unadilla, Pourcel loves that place too. Herlings would be smart to ride press day to at least get some time on the track, the thing that could hurt him is lack of time to get used to the track.

I expect Baggett and Martin to be right with him at Unadilla, they won't want to be beaten in their own country and Pourcel won't want Herlings beating him either. It should be close racing.

If there were to race him in Finland last weekend they would have no chance though, his pace was simply ridiculous, even Cairoli and RV might have struggled to beat him there.

But the most exciting race might be the week before if Herlings rides the 350 against Cairoli in Lommel!

Are you crazy pourcel won't be anywhere near jeffrey lommel will be good I think Jeffrey will hand it to Cairoli

pourcel hauls at unadilla!

can remember david bailey talking about pourcel (think it was 2009 when he destroyed dungey there) - saying it was the best he had ever seen anyone ride that track, talking about how easy he made it look, and about him carrying momentum everywhere.

I certainly wouldnt bet against pourcel at unadilla! i think he will be back to 100% by then too- he's been improving every week so far

I'm so excited I may drive the 9 hours to see it. Hopefully they all get decent starts, and let the best man win. I think he has the speed to beat them, but it's going to be a big change of scenery. All the hoopla and it'll probably rain for 10 straight days and ruin it.
7/14/2014 6:12am
i cant wait to see it! after watching red bud i think its a shame that he couldnt do that round, or millville- i think out of all the US tracks those 2 would probably suit jeffrey more than any other. I still think he was a great chance to win on any track- the odds are against him but at least he has the balls to go and race in the 'other' series and step out of his comfort zone for a one off race! He will make it very interesting thats for sure!!! Be interesting to see how the american fans treat him

My money says he goes 1-1

Herlings is phenominal but with all things considered I don't think you can count Baggett or Martin out on home soil. It wouldnt surprise me if JH doesn't win a moto.

Martin has a shot if he can start up front. But let's be honest, Martin lost whatever is was that he had at the beginning of the year. He's still doing great obviously, but he's not winning by 20+ seconds anymore. BB is clearly faster than all other AMA 250 riders at the moment but he can't buy a start. There is no way BB will beat JH if he doesn't get a good start. I'm really hoping they both get up front together because if they do it could be a battle for the ages.

i hope its straight up too and you've got to respect him for putting it together....roll on dilla !

I think BB can beat him on an American track anyday. After being lapped at Lommel I bet he´s keen on revenge. What would be better than to come from behind and pass him. US tracks don´t favor sand specialists.
I´m guessing Herlings would be lucky to get a 4th. On a GP track he would smoke the field though

I'd love to have Herlings here full time. Hopefully there is some good racing but I'd imagine that the orders are "if the win is there, take it. If not, live to fight another day".

Does anyone know if he's debating making the switch next season or the season after? I'd love to have him here full time.
