Looks like quite the happening. Great pics Rupert.

Observation...the "Eyes of The Privateers" didnt look as tired this week. Usually the mask of pain is displayed throughout.

Love The EoTP segment.

Terrific photos!

I'd say a VERY LARGE crowd. Think the Friday 4th thingey helped, coolish weather - a sweet change from the last few years

of high 80s/90s/100s...

Sandberm - thx for noticing that. I do try to get the " EoTP" thingey when I can. And your acute observation is apparent,

there wasn't the heat, humidity and dust that typically assault the riders this day, it was still a brutal Red Bud course, yet

not near as nasty a day as some....The eyes tell so much, I so dig taking those types of pics...

I have noticed MOST of the "big names" don't take their goggles off until back to their

encampments....Bubba actually dropped his whilst taking them off here, kid jumped fence and snagged 'em....

* Once again, I appreciate your warm comments everyone, high 5 !

Rup - I can't believe I missed you. I was walking across the back of the gate heading back to the pits at that exact moment and watched JS7 drop his goggles. Sorry to miss you.

Were you there at the start of the moto when the guy went down just as the moto was starting ? Terry Wey ran and grabbed medics and a nurse jumped in and did chest compressions until the medic team arrived. All this while the gate is about to drop.

The great news is that it appeared the guy was going to live. Never heard exactly what happened. He was credentialed but I didn't know who he was. Not in any team gear.

Crazy stuff with what seemed to be a happy ending.
