Best low cost oil?

Going to a camp similar to MTF for 2 weeks and will be doing a load of oil changes. Last year when i was there i ran Motul 7100 (what i normally run) and its just way to expensive for the amount of oil changes i need to do. (every 2 days cause about 5 hours of actual ride time a day). Wondering if there is a low cost oil that is pretty decent, i will be rebuilding the entire motor after camp anyways so what is the best cheap oil? Needs to have JASO and its for a rmz250.

Rotella is the deal. Use it as lube in everything. Well, almost everything.

Believe it or not, the wal mart brand "HD 15w-40 is exactly the same as rotella. They just didnt pay for the jaso spec. Chevron delo 400 15-40 is the same as rotella as well. The wal mart oil is $2.49 locally. Id stick with rotella in a newish 250 or 450 but I have no qualms of using it in my new rancher 420, my rm, and everything else when rotella's not available.

Never thought about that Smile still, rotella is all u need, although youre about to get bombarded with guys tellng u that u need $12 a quart royal purple cause its "specialy made for mah gearbox" lol.

I've used Rotella since day one in an 8 year old CRF450 ridden at least 4-5 times per month with valves in near perfect spec to this day and on it's 2nd piston. This same bike has been raced in GH 6hr twice, about 30 Dist37 desert races and 75+ REMs and hundreds of miles desert trail and track practice riding.

My diesel engine oil has never failed me or any of my buddies that use it.

Rekluse suggests Rotella 15/40. Thousands of 4 stroke engines running this oil with great long term results.

I run rotella 5w-40 syn in my diesel since winter had been pretty cold this year. assuming everyone is running 15w-40 conventional in bike? this work in kawis too? I normally run valvoline motorcycle oil from local napa. $6.86 a qt

The BEST oil on the planet after 2 motos is worse than new crap oil. Do the math.

Rotella is fine oil. Use it, and change it more often than you need to, for reasons noted above.

WHo said i couldnt afford it? i just dont wanna spend 52 bucks for 4 L and go through 4 bottles of it at camp, its alot more than 40 bucks. Im just trying to save a bit of money because how expensive the camp is. Also need the money to rebuild the whole motor aftercamp.

Last year camp costed 1450, and it was 280 bucks (little more) in bike maintenance alone (all the fluids, chain, things like that and fixing broken parts) + 1300 in parts for the top bottom and valves (i do the work myself) afterwards.

Rotella is "designed for diesels" yet is also jaso spec. You know how they got jaso spec? Paid the money to have it certified as jaso. Its the exact same formulation as it was before they got the jaso spec.

I run Motul 300v and change it at 15 hours just keep it topped off ,133.8 hours on my bike and never adjusted a valve. Good oil lasts much longer and saves time on mainetence.

I agree with Cygnus.

I rarely change my oil, by most peoples standards. But I buy the good stuff. Maxima or Motul. I also up shift. Goes a long ways in making oil last longer.

But I've always wondered about expensive oils and whether they are worth it. I wonder if they are mostly all the same and are private labeled by the same few companies.

Just be careful boys. Some engine oils have additives (friction modifiers) that are not kind to your bikes wet clutch design.

I was against using rotella T forever then at mammoth the ktm support had gallons of it and that's what they said we should run. That's what everyone locally I know runs and we have never had any issues with it
