I'm a Stewart fan but didnt had the time to read all the Stewart topics so maybe it's already posted...

When I heard he was caught it reminded me on this story:

"Unfortenately I can't tell the exact story on what happend with David Evans (manager James Steward) and myself, because Mr. Evans uses his influence to remove this story from this side immediately. But first I want to make somethings clear. It would have been very easy to freeze all rumours about me concerning things (drugtest) that happened 17 years ago. A disease causes my hormon problems. My confidencial medical dossier speaks for itself. I never doped myself!!! I was willing to show this dossier in a press-conference to the press and fans. Case closed!!!
As a coach, I have an absolute clean reputation and in the last 13 years my list of results is quite impressive. In Europe everybody thought I was going mad, change 5 International athletes (Tour de France Olympics) for one National Hero(James) and also for a smaller salary, but I didn't care because this was a new refreshing challenge and the idea to work with James Stewart made me so excited, that I decided to go for it. Because they asked ME to coach James and move to the US a.s.a.p., I gave all my athletes their money back (last three months) the same counts for my personal sponsors, I cancelled my work at the Federation and sold my house and car in Holland after we defenately agreed on everything.
I was introduced to the Stewarts Family, Kawasaki, Fox and Oakley (also to some press) as the new European Topcoach from James Stewart.
I can't understand why this sponsors (who are paying big money) let this happen. This scandal is not what this proud sponsors are standing for. They should have forced Mr. David Evans to take care of his own problems in a decent and professional way. Even if this costs a little money. Finally I lost my face, my personal sponsors, my work at the Federation my house and car and 60.000 euros in cash, only because this fool ( that's me) wanted to help your National Hero, James Stewart. David Evans, Stewarts, Kawasaki, Fox, everybody should be ashamed for not at least compensate my financiel lost. If nobody comes up with something, I will continue with giving interviews to several motormagazins and internetsites( they allready called me) so nobody will forget what kind of decent, professional people you are".

Dug this up from an old Transworld Kickstart from 2005.

"We heard that James Stewart was talking to a new trainer, but we were surprised when we ran into Gert-Jan Theunisse in the pits at Broome-Tioga. In the past we’d met Gert when he was running the World Cup Mountain Bike Team for Specialized Bicycles. Besides his own road racing career, where he’d worn the polka-dot jersey in the Tour de France (winning the famed l’Alpe d’Huez stage), Gert-Jan has trained athletes like Marga Fullana (Mountain Bike World Champion), and Bart Brentjens (first Olympic Mountain Bike Champion). Over the last several years he’s been racing, as well as coaching, both road racers and also some automobile racers. Gert said, “We’re talking this weekend about coaching James, and I think we’re going to work it out. Before we only had contact through e-mail and phone, and I was very interested. So I came over and watched for the weekend.” It will be interesting to see what the hard-training Dutchman can do for James’ fitness."

I may have deciphered the above paragraph a bit.

This Gert guy seems to have dropped everything he was doing in Europe to move to the US to train Stewart. After he got here something came up about a failed drug test 17 years prior and after that he got cut loose and was bitter about how he was treated.

Obviously this looks like one side of the story from a jilted trainer who seemed ready to dish dirt until he got paid.

Personally I do not recall any of this story but when you google the guys name it shows brings up a TWMX story where they mention running into him in the Broome Tioga pits in 2005 when he was working on the deal to be his trainer.

Gert invented doping in the modern era of cycling, he was the pointy end of the epo era. Any smart millionaire athlete should refrain from even shaking his hand

From Wikipedia

Gert-Jan Theunisse of the Netherlands tested positive for testosterone during the Tour de France and received a ten-minute penalty which moved him from fourth to eleventh place overall.[91] He admitted in 2000 to using illegal substances during his career, according to an interview published by the Dutch regional newspaper Dutch "Eindhovens Dagblad". He confessed "to having used a great deal of Celestone", a corticoid, but he denied to having taken testosterone.

Why would James have this guy around?

James was found to have taken Adderall, that's all. There's no conspiracy. There may be incompetence on the part of the FIM, there may be some culpability on James' part for not keeping his paperwork straight, but nothing happened in 2006.

The list of banned substances is common knowledge, and he's a millionaire. Don't belittle the substance after the fact when in fact - it's not a secret. Everyone knows. Fail for team stewie

Exactly.

I don't know if James has a manager, I assume it is his mom and dad running the show. If it is, we'll there you go.

20 some odd people and not one paying attention to new rules about drug testing?

^^ And all the fanboys are like " LEAVE BRITTANY ALONE" melt-downing .

Fuck sake even I know the rules. It's a bit hard to plead ignorance after every bloody sport in the world has had the " I didn't know, my doctor prescribed it!" Issue.
