I am a safety manager. Think my job existed in the 60's or early 70's? Nope. OSHA wasn't even around. Now safety jobs are EVERYWHERE, and mostly good paying.
Insurance companies rule the workplace, and everyone is just trying to cover themselves .
EPO, blood transfusions or substitutes?
Also, not sure if this has been mentioned, but the doping controls in supercross...was it just urine testing or was it both blood and urine testing?
Pit Row
Some local boys I knew called it "cartoon riding."
mx836..get real. Today? This is one of the most idiotic posts in months.
Our sport has way too much value tied up in just a few top guys. It is mostly Stews fault...but FELD and MX Sports deserves some blame as well...for not making certain that their guys UNDERSTOOD what was going on. Poor management by the promoters to not make CERTAIN that their top guys understood what would be caught...what the consequences would be.
This is not a major stick and ball sport where you have 50+ superstars. We have what...3...4? You just can NOT LET THIS STUFF HAPPEN....when all your eggs are in one basket.
I must be in the minority of this issue, but I feel no one should be above the law of the land. I respect the shit out of JS, RV, RD, KR, etc. because what they do on a bike is jaw dropping. But if they are caught dirty and didn't follow the proper procedures of getting their ducks in a row then they should be held accountable like any privateer. I mean it's JAMES FUCKING STEWART, how the hell could he not have the right people around him who could think "hmm, we might want to see if these pills he's ingesting are OK if tested."
Anti-doping controls were carried out during the Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship event held at the Century Link Field, Seattle, Washington, USA, on 12 April 2014.
The riders tested were:
Ryan DUNGEY (USA)
Ryan VILLOPOTO (USA)
James STEWART (USA)
No prohibited substances or their metabolites, or markers, or the use of prohibited methods were found in the tested samples apart from James Stewart’s sample, which tested positive for amphetamine.
All information concerning the FIM Anti-Doping policy and its obligations available HERE
