RV2 What a bummer it is!

Edited Date/Time 6/17/2014 3:56pm
We may never get to see arguably two of the fastest men on the planet go head to head in the great out doors. RV and JS with fully developed race craft and the "I hate to lose" attitude engaged in a battle royale.

I’m not knocking the racing. It has been very entertaining and it should continue to heat up. I would have like to see those two push one and other, they both have another gear they keep in their back pocket for special occasions and it is truly a treat for all to see.

What would be even better is Stewart from 2008 and RV from 2013. Both Primes.

I'm an RV fan, but it's been pretty good without him. Look...If he's not enjoying racing anymore, it's okay there will always be guys who want to take his place out there. I thought it was interesting what Reed said about him being miserable and looking back he felt like he was the same way at one time.

Ya we are missing some good racing without RV for sure! but who knows what the future will manifest, maybe RV'll get a rejuvenated desire to stay in the game a little longer after this time off...

you happen to know how he's doing right now? or what stage his rehab's at?

Relax. You got to watch RC and JS go at in your lifetime, don't be greedy.

I though that was an odd thing Reed said and that they would even include it in the broadcast, that RV is miserable because he doesn't have kids, or the burden/responsibility of kids

Absolutely was interesting to hear Chad's take on RV... Love his attitude these days, i have new respect for Reed..

Potto does look miserable tho, (even while holding all that Monster cash, seems he has to force a smile )

You nailed it. Those were epic battles.

He is doing well. Hobbling around crutches and getting to travel a bit. Definitely getting to take some well deserved time off to do things most of us only dream of. He said those Moto GP guys are nuts and those things are loud. I’m hoping he can make it up this way and we can go watch some Top Fuel this summer.

We will see, seems like even when your off work for awhile you are still busy. Go figure!

I dont know about you, but I think Aldons program would make me miserable as well. Seems like all the fun is removed from riding and racing. Seems like Baby Jesus (AC) and Roczen might have the personality to be able to change that notion, we shall see.

RV keeps Aldon and develops major burn-out... Similar to James when he trained with Aldon..

I see a pattern of these guys getting worn out.

1 swallow doesn't make a summer,JS7 has been awesome recently but let's see how he gets on over the next round or so,Roczen's still the best in class this year IMO

It's a great shame he's out this year and we're missing another great head to head it's RV v AC at the end of the year

Saw it last year, your boy was back there battling RD and Canard like he is this year.

Without a clearly dominant rider (MC, RC, JS, RV) like we have gotten used to over the past 2 decades we are seeing some of the most competitive racing in a long time. It's refreshing to turn on the tube and NOT know who is going to win on any given day. Four races in to the Outdoors this is shaping up to be the best series in a long time. I hate to think that it will be decided at that abortion of an outdoor track in Utah but that's what it looks like to me.

Don't get the thread at all, did not see RC's name mentioned in the original post though it read something about arguably the fastest two riders ever.

Same amount of wins but Roczen's never been off the box,at Glen Helen was agonizingly close to winning both Motos too (while JS7 was way over a minute behind) JS7 got a couple of clean starts and 2 solid wins but Kenny's always pushed forward and been the most impressive for me thanks, roll on Muddy creekWink

Yes most consistent and yes he has the points lead

I think there will never be outdoor battles like JS and RC used to have, really wish villopoto was out there this year though

Um, I saw them go head to head like ten times last year. However, there were zero notable battles between the two. Even if Stew would have raced every outdoor race since RV went 450, who's to say they'd ever push each other and have these epic battles?

I've been fortunate enough to see quite a few more than two of the FMOTP go at it. Did anyone here see Stanton and Bradshaw throw down at Hi-Point in '91. That race rivaled RC and JS7 in their prime. Also got to see some Wardy/Johnson battles. They were no slouches either. I think this new generation don't realize that the previous years had speed and talent too.

That is not what Chad was saying. (that RV is miserable because he does not have kids) He was saying when he (Chad) had kids it gave him a different perspective / outlook. He was in RV's shoes being on top...and not enjoying it.
