$15000 for this bike sounds like a great price. The price of the stock bike and the suspension would be about that price. We built a 2007 CRF450 for a customer very similar to this bike that sold for $30000. It does look like some of the parts, like the radiators and ignition cover are stock, not factory parts. Most of the parts on this bike are available to the public if you look hard enough, but with the exchange rate I'm sure it would cost well over $15000 just to get close to what the bike has.

I was just going to say the same thing GuyB.... lots of light weight parts and all... BUT!!!........ does it have a TRUE factory backed engine!?! THAT is the real question. I know KTM ask for the factory engines back from the riders that they sponsor so they can destroy then, they will NOT allow them to be sold under no circumstance

All factory teams destroy the majority of factory bikes and parts. Thats why it make me wonder about the engine.

Many of the exotic parts in Europe are actually available to the public. I would bet that if this motor is modified, it has mostly parts that can be purchased by anyone. There may be some Factory Honda parts, but I doubt the inside of this motor is anything like a U.S. Factory Honda. The ignition is a JD or Pro Circuit here in the U.S. I believe most true factory Hondas are running the Full Factory ignition. Still a great buy though.

let's remember...most of the members on here couldn't ride a 74 Elsinore to it's full potential so no...this bike is a ripoff.

$15,000, for a used bike, you got to be kidding. Most likely the slowest rich novice will buy it. This is whats wrong with the sport. Bikes to are loud, to expensive and no legal places left to ride. Add in the lawsuits, dumb track designs, unnecessary injuries and you can see the writing on the wall.

I'm glad I got to see the day when you could buy a brand new KX 500 for $2,300.00 and you could ride almost anywhere free.

If I see another slow rider in a huge motor home with a trailer and 4 bikes, I'm going to be sick. I quit for 12 years and returned to a rich mans sport. The new 450's are nice (I bought a new CRF450R), but I would take back the older bikes and old ways in a second.

First off - the bike is not for sale at the price 15000 dollars. That is the beginning bid with the RESERVE NOT MET. No telling what the reserve is...
Second off - I would spend 15000 in second on that bike. Piece of SHIT Harley's sell for a lot more than that.

P.S. Wadded_Up you sound like a OLD MAN. Damn I am sick of OLD MEN talking about how great MX was back in the day...stupid old farts Smile

Outdated? Shit, Marty Smith's 1975 RC125 had the engine cases cast for fuel injection. Why did it take so long to get it to the public? 33 years later?? Fact is, two years from now we'll be talking about what an absolute piece of shit the first year fuel injected CRF450 was. Amazing how fast we'll bite on the outdated technology being shipped from Japan. Stuff's obsolete before it ever hits the shore.

I busted my ass for 14 years of school to be able to decide what to spend my money on. If that happens to be a big rig, then it'll be a big rig. None of your business, now is it?

if anyone noticed over night (Sept 29) that the euro banks are about to colapse like the american banks did and the dollar is up..... in the next few days that will be a an $8000 US dollar bike and I for one am seriously looking into how to get it home to AZ for my return in the next few months!!!! I cant wait to go riding!!!!!!!

Any hoo..... I have been screaming to everyone that would listen to this "old fart" ……expensive four strokes haven’t improved racing at all.... I have not ridden since 2002... I guarantee that I could out ride and out corner 99% of the guys at a local track on a 86 CR250R... and all of these deep thoughts while I have the "training montage" playing from the Rocky 4 soundtrack... you know you love it!!!!

I agree 100%.

The pits are a complete joke. Dudes rolling up with motorhomes with a 20' trailer filled with pit bikes and golf carts all to race the novice class. UFBS. Sad part is the golf carts get more use than the actual race bike.

And the worst is a pro class with three or four guys.
