Your answer just shows that you haven't really look at the race yesterday, especially the second heat when Boissière was in second position (!!!) before struggling with his flat tyre at the end of the race (he finally finished 18th).

Back to Team France, second for the second time in a row, yet nobody (that includes DC and RD) even MENTIONNED France as a potential podium team !! It is to be noted also that Boissière was a "B" choice after Frossard got hurt (but he rode great) !

Overall I have to say I am disappointed in the GP champs. Neither was even close to the pace of the leaders and Reed was the weakest link on the AUS team, WTF?

And the main difference here is "human rider" against a mechanical.

Anyway this all "if" stuff I'm stoked on Pourcel winning his Category and on team France to get second!!! The MXDN is just something different to any race so unpredictable!

Its a fact that the top GP riders could not match the pace of RV and James. Yeah they may have had a few good laps, but you gotta be able to do that the entire race from start to finish. Thier lap times were waay off the 2nd half of each race compared to ours. I not saying the GP riders arent fast, im just saying they cant do it for an entire moto.

Good to hear that now at least we can all say that the Euros are not some crappy third world riders that won't even be near as fast as JS or RV. they proved they can be fast as well. Now there is the question of being fast for 30 min but that's another story....

I don't think anyone expected a GP rider to beat fair and square RV or JS. But at least we were hoping that they could show them they had some speed over here as well and it wasn't going to be a walk in the park as predicted.

Oh absolutely! You guys were out of your element here at Budds Creek last year and it showed, as it did this year with us in GB. I dont know if GP riders use trainers, but if they dont they should. Also, they need to take note of what happens to every GP rider that comes over here for a season or 1 off race. They always say how they are surprised at how aggressive/fast we are from the drop of the gate. Stop being suprised all the time, when the gate drops, hammer down! If they used that mentality over your way the GPs and MXoN races would be even better. GPs need to do some track editing over there as well. You guys got some weird track designs and track maintenance needs to be upgraded. When the GP officials came over for the Budds Creek National during the season for a dry run for the MXoN, they ruined the track. Budds is my home track, and it was the worst I have ever seen it. Thank God they let us prep it better for the MXoN last year.

But GP followers would argue that you guys grade your circuits too much. For us the way the track ruts up and develops new and tricky sections is part and parcel of Motocross.

We're of the opinion that the tracks should be rugged and difficult, not groomed into perfectly soft, powdery soil between each race.

Its just a difference in track prep, neither one is neccesarily the 'correct' way (although Im sure someone will argue that ) - we probably stick to a more traditional style whereas you guys take a more modern approach.

I think you'll find that the National was done by American's and the MXdN was a collaboration of AMA/FIM... can you imagine someone from FIM trying to tell an AMA guy how to run their tracks at their rounds?!?

and exactly how many GPs have you been to/watched for this sweeping statement about the tracks?
A lot of people on here did say before the race that Donington wasn't exactly traditional, and that we weren't happy about it... but it actually provided some really good racing and i'm soooooooooo glad they left it rough

too much track grooming is done these days imho.

let's face no-one on either side of the pond can hang with Stewart for an entire moto.... whether your name is Ferry, Pourcel, Short, Philippaerts, Alessi, de Dycker, Byrne, Leok, Cooper, Nagl, Reed, Coppins

track grooming on race day should be banned ! let the riders adapt to all the different changes in each line, i wanna see riders going across the toughest terrain not tracks what u can play snooker on !

Blah, Blah, Blah. That track not only was designed bad, but WTF was that shit with the tree branches, rebar, and doorknobs mixed in with the dirt? They actually disced it up pretty deep to mix all that crap in. Should have done it with just the dirt. None the less though, the track was shitty.

Pourcel rode consistent and aggressive and it payed off for him (that is what racers do).

He did what he needed to do get his team up on the podium.

His OA score for the day was better then James....you cant argue with that (they both left the gate at the same time).

Bottom line.....the kid put in a some great rides and did what he needed to do, to get a 2-1 overall in his class.

How can someone not respect that?

You lost when the USA team had bad luck lol Got smoked at Budds creek last year got smoked there this year .. What ya gonna say..

I got an "if" for ya.. If bubba didnt wash out he would of won by 20 sec like he did in the first moto. The difference between an intermediate and a pro is running the distance the whole race. Lap times show he had nothing after he shot his load doing everything he could to run his pace. Bubba pulled away riding his own race and had a small mishap.
