I know you permanent Cali guys see this stuff all the time, but living in the NW, well we don't. Occasional trips down to ride are always more fun when you see cool moto stuff at the tracks. A few things of interest from today's thur practice at Glen Helen.
People have been asking about Pourcel, he was there. Didn't really see him ride hard at all today, but he did put in a lot of laps. And yep he is still wearing that funky UFO gear.
I Got to say hi to McGrath, the king. He was testing Honda stuff with a bunch of Honda techs. I always liked that guy and today just reaffirmed that. He was surrounded by techs but I still saw him changing a rear tire himself, what a bad ass.
Mike Sleeter was there hauling ass of course on a stock looking KTM. Well when I looked closer it was a new generation bike done up to look like a 14. New frame and motor, and yes it's still a steal frame thank god. Frame looked similar but shaped a lot different, I know I was sitting on my 14 looking at his and noting the major differences. Air box was totally different, and the starter and cases were also very different.
The animal WP Weston Peick was the fastest looking guy there, him and Joey Savatchy were the only two guys I saw jumping the triple in front of the tower. Lots of fast locals, and factory guys were there, but those two were railing.
Anyways what a fun day, even though I always struggle at glen Helen. That dirt is weird. Had a great time riding a bunch this week and now back in the van, turn on a new Pulp mx show, big coffee and a long ass drive home.

Does anyone know what make/manufacturer front disc cover on Pourcel's bike?
I did see video from last year MC running stock Honda 250 wich didnt sound anything like top 250 because he was riding it like 450 with high gears/lazy on Honda press day. I hope its 350 anyway
and thanks for posting interesting story!
By the way Pourcel was definitely not riding that bike.
