I went to watch the 2nd round of the British Championships a couple of weeks back, and noticed all of the Buildbase Honda team using some pretty sick looking clutch covers on the bikes.
They weren’t Hinson as they had their own logos engraved into them with each riders’ race numbers on too.
Anyone know which company sells them? Cool

Hey, a friend of mine just linked me on facebook to this thread...

Yup, I make these billet clutch covers for a few British and GP teams and in talks with a few AMA guys too... I launched a new website this week, check it out! That old domain is currently being transferred to the new site...

Chuck,

Any consideration of making covers that are 3-4mm deeper than stock for the most popular model bikes to accomodate the increasing use of Rekluse and slipper clutches?

Great work Chuck! Looks awesome!

Thanks for the comments means a lot! Its a lot of work getting the stock covers scanned and then building up a 3D model from them before a new model can be released but we're getting there! KTM/Husky 250 and 350 covers are both machined, just finishing the machining of the threaded oil filler part on the tops then theyll be added to the site...

Our covers are slightly wider than the stock ones to hold more oil, but ive never tested them with a rekluse or slipper clutch - they may well fit! Ill try find someone with one to test on! Thanks

Just finished a few 250 and 450 Hondas, here's some close ups before they go off to be hard anodised, for anyone who's interested! They come with the rubber o-ring slot and the oil return feed to the centre of the clutch...

Those covers are like jewelry! Are those graphics laser etched?

OT question for you chuckdavies....I used to visit a customer in Coventry quite often and we ate at a little chip shop called Gabriel's. I liked that place. Is it still in business?

Thankyou! They really are a work of art... No, designs are also CNC machined, laser etching would be a cheaper option but doesnt get the same finish as CNC machining.

Yes! Gabriel's is still running as far as i know, thats around 10 minutes drive from where I live.

Chuck,

please let me kow what you find out about fitting over a Relkuse Core EXP clutch. Alternatively, if you let us know how much deeper your cover is compared to the stock 09--14 CRF450 clutch cover is, we would have some idea about potential fitment.

thanks,
mike

Very nice work!

Out of curiosity, not to burst any bubbles here, but do Honda or any other manufacturers mind you using their logos on them?

We were making some Harley Davison signs for a few freinds on the CNC router, and someone at a dealership saw one in a guys garage. We got a "Cease and desist" letter a few days later.

Just a heads up so you don't get blindsided.

If you need any help with the 3D scanning and creating parametric CAD models let me know that's what I do for my day job.

When you have time, check to see if 2013 KTM 250 SXF & 2013 KTM 250 XCF covers are the same. I believe they are but not positive. If so, I will purchase one from you. Thanks.
