You've put together an MXdN "widget" I can run on my Mac that tells me when the race is going to happen, but I can't actually watch the web cast of the race on a Mac.

Thanks very much.

Talk about a tease.

Every MAC owner I know has a PC also. MACs are great for certain things, but bad for the fun things.

Get a PC.
To watch one race, on a broadcaster who won't have the series next year?

Right.

That's bullshit. I'm pretty sure it will still stream through a program like Flip4Mac

http://www.flip4mac.com/wmv_download.htm

If it doesn't work, I'll be out $15 because I don't know anyone who owns a PC and a decent internet connection.

Scratch that last post. I just looked up "DRM" on their website and it said the same as Mediazone:
"At this time, Microsoft has no plans to offer Windows Media DRM support on the Macintosh"

That was always my stumbling block with Mediazone.

Think they are still getting them next year

Yeah, this is why I never actually got to use that Mediazone membership GuyB hooked some of us up with a while back.

I was going to set up my Mac to dual-boot Windows just for this purpose but I never found the disks, and pirating it over again wasn't worth the effort. Grinning

Free of Charge GP coverage live on the internet in 09

FIM MOTOCROSS AND SUPERMOTO WORLD SERIES TO BE BROADCASTED LIVE ONLINE FREE OF CHARGE ON FREECASTER.TV

LOMMEL (BELGIUM), 2 August 2008 – The FIM Motocross World Championship promoter Youthstream and the online broadcaster Freecaster.tv have reached an important agreement to broadcast the series for free live and delayed on www.freecaster.tv from 2009.

This new partnership will bring important benefits to the sport; courtesy of the Internet streaming free of charge Motocross and SuperMoto will become a lot more accessible to accommodate all the current fans and to attract new audiences.

Thanks to Freecaster.tv, which is already showing and will continue to show the MXGP highlights and lots of extra features on the Championship, the FIM Motocross and SuperMoto World Championships will become the first major sports to be broadcast live and delayed online for free.

The FIM Women’s Motocross World Championship will be aired on Freecaster.tv which will cover also the MX3 and Snowcross World series, the Veterans’ World Cup and the FIM Off Road Awards.

The whole Freecaster.tv coverage will be available for websites to embed as the common goal is to increase the sports’ coverage and visibility worldwide.

Thanks Chris I hope so I have watched like 6 gp's in the last two day they are fun to watch totally different seems more professional than ama and a bigger deal fans with blow horns screaming.. The tracks are pretty wide open looking besides the Lierop track gawd that was brutal to say the least Deruever handed it to them boys. I like watching that big guy DeRyker ride he just man handles that 450. Very cool to watch those races.

I have a MAC, I watch mediazone on the PC side of the MAC.

It really is not that hard to work out how to do it!!

Another thing, Mediazone does not like Firefox, they specify IE.

I've used Media Zone to watch the MXDN since 2005, its well worth the money. It works great and its the only game in Town (for Windows!). I bought the whole GP / SM packages, but never found myself watching them.

The MXDN is another story, its awesome watching the drama live, good stuff. Lets hope we get a live on-line Nation MX Series package for PC and Mac for 2009.

Maybe we should call it Media Done and let Wide World of Sports do the "right" thing... ?

MediaZone is proven. Great camera angles, placement, footage, etc. Makes spode vision in the USA look like amature mx. Full screen media player playback. Dirt cheap at $20 bucks a year for the mxdn and 4 years of archives.
Freecaster looks like a 3" screen with limited track coverage. You get what you pay for. FREE=SHIT
