I think it's great to change things up, but I was really trying to tell in Tony's voice if he thought they would be king shit up there. Faccioti is blazing fast up there and Metcalfe will be amazing as well.
I still think there are some issues with DC and what happened at a certain race last year.

I think they're still on probation...Which with them, can be a huge issue. As one more screw up, I think they eat a lifetime ban!

This is disappointing! I know the Alessi's get the brunt of abuse from alot of fans or people around them, although Tony is a bit of a clown.. . No one can dis credit his dedication and passion for the sport and to his sons. It is annoying that they have chosen this route.. A rider of Mike's calibre is capable of winning races if not a championship.. It is all mental when it gets to that level and he is a rider that lets the mental side of racing get the better of him. I'm sure he'll do well in Canada but it'd be better to see him pull it all together for outdoors.
*the Alessi's earn the brunt of abuse from a lot of fans..."

So, its a marketing decision. A lot of exposure in a small market vs. not much exposure in a large market for their hot tub cover.

We all bring up the "what if?" scenario with a podium position for Mike at GH but realistically he had his opportunity last year to show he was a podium guy and for the most part I really cant remember what Mike did in 13 besides Washougal.

Genova, making a business decision based on past results both on the track and off.

Still think Mike should sign with a GP team but...
People: let's be honest here. This is not about marketing: it's about being butt hurt from last summer, plain and simple. If you heard Genova on PulpMX, that should have come across loud and clear.

So whats Mexico? Central America or North America...or is there an imaginary line somewhere in-country that denotes such?

Is there a Mason/Dixon line in Me-hee-co?The Sanchez/Rodriguez parabolic arch?

Hell, Canada is practicaly the North Freeking Pole.

Parts of Canada are much farther south than parts of the US.

Let me ask a hypothetical question- If somebody else besides Tony managed that team, would they go to Canada?

Second question- if Mike Genova and his wallet hadn't come along, who would Mike be racing for?

I hope I'm hearing it wrong, but to me it sounds like a case of sour grapes or a tantrum in regards to the US Nationals.

One thing that is a constant is the strange behavior of the Alessi family- unless this is their version of an April Fools joke?

It might be me, but every time Tony talks he seems like he is always in a defensive mode. Like the whole world is against his team and kids and he has to make it known he doesnt have any ill will towards anyone. But it sounds like the exact opposite.

Them signing Medaglia makes me think they are just running GH and have no intentions of running the rest of the Nationals. Their minds are set on racing in Canada.

I have a feeling at some point this summer we will hear how the Canadian nationals are better than the ones put on by MX sports and the current drug ring they run.

Interesting.

It was funny, Tony said 3 times, "by our choice"

Hope it works out for them
He has to say stuff like that because idiots like to make crap up, spread rumors and believe everything they read on the net, know what I mean?

After this past SX season I was looking forward to seeing Alessi possibly having a great outdoor season. The interview with Tony shows why he should not be in any public relations position. Mike Alessi should speak for Mike Alessi.

Would that be cool or what - an MC tuned RM250, with Mikey aboard?!

Just a thought Smile

Geographically speaking, Mexico is usually referred to as part of Latin America. However, there are lots of ways to break up areas of the world in regards to regions.

That's the most uneven trade in the world, even if we only get one body to your 3 Joelessis and MCR!

What's kinda sad...Alessi is missing out on an amazing opportunity to show the industry, sponsors, themselves, heck the universe what he's made of with all the top guys healthy (what looks to be anyway, we'll see with the rest of SX) and all going to be there. Rise above it all and let your riding do the talking...put your head down, work hard, go out there and win a moto or put your MCR bike up on the box. Unlike years past where top guys were out, and with 250 champions moving up, this would be the year of all years for MA to show his stuff. guess they'll show Canada then....

Well, he told me that last Saturday. So if it was, it was extremely well-planned.

We do get a lot of US "seconds" up here every year but talent of this level can only raise the level of competition.I'm glad to see it. Go Colton. Cool ..and Metty too.Smile
