That's why Wey came into Applied 3 times and bought clamps??? Don't know why he would do that, but he did. Maybe he runs them on his practice bikes?

I called the distributor for Xtrig and you cant get the upper clamp only at the moment. Only the full set top and bottom.

I may be able to find one on ebay but I hightly doubt it.

Nick was still using Pro Circuit clamps last I checked (that includes all the west rounds and Dallas), Moss ran them only when he used a set of a-kits for about two rounds, the rest of the time he has ran stock clamps, and applied doesn't provide the same bar mount set-up as X-trig.Smile
Hmmmmm, that's odd, cuz he is one of their riders, and he has been in there picking stuff up. Same as Moss. And you know all...

As for the same bar mount set up, I guess they couldn't provide the exact same set up (that would be illegal), but I think it's close, no?
What would be illegal about it?

Why in the heck won't they sell just the top clamp with the bar mount?? Hmmm..that doesn't sound like very good marketing to me.

I don't think their top clamp would work with a stock style steering stem and and lock nut setup. You can order the bar mounts and modify them to fit a stock upper clamp (grind the two locating ridges off the bottom and run a longer bolt). Whistling

Morality I understand... Legally, I would doubt anyone has a patent on clamps, and if they did, I would think it would have run out a long time ago.

The guy I spoke to a guy at KYB who is the US importer of the Xtrig clamps and he said the price is what is keeping them from selling just the top clamp here. You can get it from Xtrig but not from him.

He said that the top clamp is close to $600 and the top and bottom are in the $750 range so the price difference doesn't make it cost effective to stock them when most people want the whole set anyway.

You know what was cool with the Applied Clamps? First, notice the price, and how much lower they are than "premium" brands.I have RG3's, and they are amazing, but the price is scary! Their rubber mount system is good. I dont think theres anything to gain in this area, for normal riding/racing other than geometry changes. I believe strength is fine on any of them.

So back to Applied. Their clamps are cast, then finish machined. It gives that look of a billet clamp, but is a bunch lighter than billet clamps, and a lot less money.
Applied clamps are machined from billet. They are not cast.

Their new RS Factory Clamp Sets feature a very effective way to run either solid or rubber bar mounts with the same set of claps with no twisting.

Excellent bang for he buck compared to anybody else's clamps.

I just put them on our Honda 450, as X-Trig recently updated the mount shape. You can buy them, then go to a fastener store and get the proper length bolt and head style to make them fit.

Almost forgot, the X-Trig bar mounts are going to be taller than most stock bar mounts on stock clamps. So you may have to try a lower handelbar or modify the cones to lower the bar mounts as much as possible.
