You missed it. There have been several posts talking about the young gentlemen by both American and European members saying nothing but good things about the up and coming racer.

During the races he was talked about a bit on here, I was dang impressed. I usually talk to Thomas when I see him out at the tracks and have been watching him the last few years week to week, but I didn't expect that! He is putting in the work for sure and it showed.Cool

Mitch Payton clearly sees something really special to have already signed him for the Nationals. I've been watching him since he was on 85s and think he is seriously talented. It will be interesting to see what he does at the Nationals this year. Does he have a 2 year contract with PC?

Will see how he really fits in after a few races... any one of the top 20 are capable of a top 5 , it takes a few races for it to settle in , and a good start certainly helps , but he rode well, i'm thinking maybe Mitch thinks he will be better outdoors than SX, his style certainly didnt stand out against the euro riders, didnt use energy trying to look fast ...

Got out clean, kept his head and rode a great race, when Butron caught him he held his ground and Butron went down, the class is so tight, there were around 10 guys scrapping all race within a few seconds of a podium, the class is going to be great to watchWink

GP racing's a very diverse one,the tracks in Europe will tell us a lot,so don't take it that way

Leib did the same funny enough, podiumed on his debut at a hardpack track, struggled ever since.

DeCotis struggled to score points, cracking top 20 was tough,he only raced the Euro tracks though, something man made like Qatar would've suited him better too

Its more of a comical jab, whitty bantor I know the Brits love. He wont like the comment and jab back, keeps the mind fresh and current. I take nothing from forums in any way except fictional entertainment. Feel free to jump into said banter.

I think Osborne won his first GP race, crashed in the second, and took ages to win another, I think he won the Irish GP that Pourcel got badly injured at .

To be honest , i hope he does well and stays, we might get a few more over to give it a go like Moore, Healey, Parker and Vohland did..

Osborne didn't win his very first GP. He won in Turkey, not in Ireland.

... im sure Osborne came in part way through the season , did well ,but never got to be a regular winner , with Pourcel, Musquin , Roczen, and then Herlings coming along..

The tracks were similar ,Turkey an Ireland ,both man made , i think he might have led in Ireland as well.

Good rider, screwed over by the age limit

Unless I'm mistaken I believe Zach came in at Lommel in 08 and did surprisingly well right away. I may be getting mixed up though. I also remember him doing well in Ireland battling hard with Tyla. Turkey was 09.

Extremely impressed with Thomas, it's good to have another competitive rider in there and definitely another point of interest as the season progresses. Jeffrey, although still the clear favourite, commented himself yesterday that the class overall is definitely faster this year. We'll see how that pans out beyond Qatar - hopefully more exciting races. I expected MX2 to be a yawner compared to MX1 this year tbh, but it was actually quite enjoyable.

Osborne won a moto at the Irish GP in 2008. It was the second moto I think. He had a DNF in moto one.

Covington rode really well. It's nice to see an American doing well in GP racing.

As PhilG said anyone of the top ten or more can be on the podium. Tim Gasjer, who finished tenth in moto two, had the same best lap as Anstie who lead most of the race until he stalled. It's so close in that class with so many good young riders.

Interesting to see right at the end there were a heap of riders all still hauling, closing in on Covington, at about the time they'd have had around 3 more laps to do under previous GP race times

I wonder how different guys are adjusting to the new Moto times
Top 10 seperated by 15 seconds after 35 mins racing is awesome, again the racing for podium s is going to be great

That's a good point. I think the riders will go harder from the start. Herlings would have won the first moto if it was a 35 minute plus 2 like last year. I think a lot of guys realised they have to sprint harder now. They don't have time to wait.

Why, Butron turned into Covington form behind and to the side. Covington did nothing more than hold his line. And if that is any way a move that pisses someone off, than you guys really are more butt sensitive than I thought.

I think the shorter time made for some better racing in this first race, we will see after everyone adapts.

I hope Thomas stays in GPs , great ride, the more riders there are capable of making it hard for Herlings to get to the front the more interesting it is ( especially a rookie yank ,lol)

Wow, thats surprising.

Not that he doesn't warrant a ride, more that he's opted to race the GP's instead of the Nationals. Having raced an EMX round last year and a few GP's this season I wonder what draws him to the GP's?

I wonder if skipping SX has anything bearing on it?
I must admit, getting paid to go to Qatar,Thailand and Brazil must be amazing, then onto Italy and the European countries too, what a lifestyle for a kid his age from the US,or anywhere for that matter

Good luck to him,his results (apart from that 3rd) don't justify his efforts and potential
