I thought Mike was an ass last week...but that's in the past. I was rooting for him all the way tonight. Great ride!

For sure getting the starts, now if he can just settle down, just go to work, get some tunnelvision, he'd be close.

I wish he would ride like that all the time.

He was on it for sure! Just bummed with how it turned out. I don't buy all this BS about him holding Tomac up. If Tomac was so much faster he would've found a way to stick the pass.

I don't know what that was last week... no need to ponder it!

I feel Mike's pain and desire, all in one. I'd like nothing more than for 800 to start riding where he should, like he did for most of tonight! I'm counting on it...

Can you even imagine the MELTDOWN of the SX internet if he somehow could have won that race?

And he was holding his own for the first half, and as tricky as the track was it would not have been shocking to see the Dung go down, with 800 taking the miracle win (hypothetical, but not illogical after seeing those first few laps).

Fuck, I just tried to imagine the MELTDOWN Alessi would have had on the podium if he won, that would have started round 2 of the internet Armageddon...

But I always have cheered for the underdog, so it was good to see him get some speed (and confidence) going. Even if it did not end with a top 10, with as much as that guy has been through (much self inflicted, some not) it is good that he keeps fighting back. Congrats to him.

The good thing is that Mike is batteling more and more each week instead of giving up. He PULLED from RD, RV, JB and KR early in the heat and in the main he settled down a bit and put a small gap on ET before he fell. Of course falling is part of the game but I think he would have been on the podium. GREAT JOB MIKE!!!

P.S. PLEASE get some professional help with your interviews!

I bet he reads all this shit and it has been motivating him! The guy rode his ass off! If he starts believing in himself no telling what he can do.

Good to see a guy that has had to face so much adversity hang tough and not give up. Picking himself up by the bootstraps is an understatement. Nice ride tonight 800.

Call him what you want... just not a quiter.

I agree.

He did two things different tonight then he did last week in the main.
1) He didn't look back to see who was behind him
2) He fought for his position

I respect that.

+1, I always find myself rooting for him, not sure why maybe it's cuz all the haters he has. all the bad stuff about tony yet mike still thanks his old man in interveiws and stands behind him, Ive never heard RV thank his dad or mom.
maybe its cuz his first couple yrs in the 250class he hauled ass and did everything possible even when it wasnt the right thing to do, the tedesco thing was pretty comical I thought, just think if jeff and mike switched places at 2nd moto glen helen 05, the alessi's woulda literaly stole the title lol.

It looked like he had shaken Tomac and was heading for a second place finish. Sucks that he crashed.

Good ride Mike!!! We were pulling for him tonight after this week of hell. My wife & I were reading his IG & Twitter. People were ruthless & won't let it go. Defiantly felt bad for the guy. He loves racing so much & try's so hard. He's gone through a lot of adversity throughout his career, but he's never given up & I can respect that. Good for him.
Man, if he would've won the main. The ENTIRE internet would've burned to the ground, literally. It would've looked like the LA riots, just online... Dizzy

After the shit kicking' he got last week (deserved, imo), he rode DAMN good tonight. 2 holeshots, wins the heat, and was showing some serious speed in the main. I dunno if fitness was an issue with the crash or not, but he didn't drop anchor like I was expecting. It would have been interesting to see where he would have finished with no crash. Of course we could say that for Villo, Roczen and Stewart, etc...
Good job MA, keep it up!

I think Mike could have won tonight had it not been for the pesky little Universe getting in the way.

He definitely had an awesome ride, good for him! How the heck are people saying he held Tomac up? So what you are just supposed to let someone by if they might be faster now, is this some new rule in racing I'm not aware of? Unbelievable what people come up with.

Great interview. It is good to see a heartfelt interview as it is a glimpse into the true life of a top mxer. I thought he just might call for Adrian.
