2014 Nationals - directTV - MAVTV

So I called Direct TV today to see what package it will take to upgrade to to get the Nationals in HDTV. I currently get this MAVTV channel in standard definition 314. The DirectTV person told me that MAVTV is not offered in HD on DirectTV.

I am one year into a 2 year contract with DirectTV. The only reason I have DirectTV is because I wanted to watch the Nationals in HD last year on FuelTV and Comcast did not offer it.

Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions or solutions? Standard definition on a 70 inch flat panel is enough to make me mad. Who, if anyone, carries MAVTV in high definition?

You got me worried so I checked mine. DISH has it in HD as part of the "Outdoor Sports" pack add-on. So it will cost me an extra $4 a month come time for Nationals.

Get dish sometimes they will buy you out of your contract with directtv

Get Dish and be happy! My dad had direct and it sucked. I think Dish will buy you out like the other poster stated.

Make the nationals available outside the US as a pay-per-view live stream HD solution for the fans worldwide!

Good suggestion on Dish. I'll call them and see what they will do. But I'm kind of liking the directTV multi room DVR, and I'm tired of chasing the Nationals programming.

Does that means *all* motos are on NBC/NBCSN and additionally one moto is also on MAVTV? Or does that means the motos are split between each channel?

Fairly confident that one moto will be on MAV and one on NBC. . .

I have uverse. I insisted on having FuelTV when I signed up for the nationals. Last I saw, MAVTV wasn't offered on UVerse. Hopefully that changes. I just renewed my contract a few months ago just before the MAVTV was announced.

Jeez, what a mess.
Having half of a professional motorsport event on one channel and half on another is ridiculous.

but I know, I know:

WE SHOULD BE HAPPY. REMEMBER WHEN THERE WAS ONE RACE A YEAR ON TV?

I have heard this argument so much. I wonder, if a rider complains that his bike sucks in 2014, does some industry knob say "well, you shouldn't complain, you should see what we rode in '78!"

I emailed MavTV last month,They said they provide Directv with a HD feed but they choose to show MavTV in SD. They said they are trying to get Directv to show MavTV in HD. They mentioned that calling Directv requesting MavTV in HD might help the cause.
I have called Directv a couple times requesting thet MavTV be shown in HD but we need a lot more Directv customers to call Directv to request to them to show MavTV in HD.

I have been emailing my cable provider weekly if not daily now for about the past 2 months. I'm thinkin I can be like that dude in the shawshank redemption when he gets his books! haha

I did call DirectTV and request it in HD. The indicated they have a list, and I would be notified when it's available in HD. I'm not going to hold my breath, though... ; )

Two years later and MAVTV still is not available in HD via DirecTV! By 2016 I'd have thought it would be available in HD thru all providers.

We were able to watch the nationals in HD prior to 2014 as DirecTV did offer FuelTV in HD for many years. That's what's frustrating is to go backwards from HD nationals on FuelTV with DirecTV to SD with MAVTV.

I guess we'll have to stream via Android phone to Chromecast to TV using the NBC Live Extra app once again this year to see the first Moto's in HD. At least the second motos on NBC Sports Channel are in HD.

We watched it on firestick with nbcsn extra ,it was in hd.

The 2nd motos were live but it required a account and pw thru the provider which i dont have.

Dont mind the hour to much,time to drink,grill,or bend your gf over the living room furniture if you aren't mwc.
