I'm not saying I don't want him to get it back. I do. But why be so dramatic about it. You can replace it.

Really dude? It's plastic and metal. It can be replaced. Your priorities are fucked up.
When somebody works their ass off to buy their bike, accessorize it the way they want, rides it to enjoy life, and then some asshole steals it I would consider a loss beyond just plastic and metal. Maybe he can't just go out and buy a new one? I would say you are fucked up for even saying what you did. Have some compassion and don't be an asshole about it.

Back to subject, I hope they find the bike for the ya Brancrackah. I've been in your shoes having a bike stolen before. I got mine back in good shape luckily. It can happen so don't loose faith.

Turbo I recovered my Yamaha 450 after it was stolen. It ended up in Atlantic city, about 15 minutes from where it was stolen. I know it was probably morally wrong, but there was an affordable housing development not far from where it was stolen, I assumed that someone from there took it as it's not the best place around. I went in there with flyers that had a reward posted on it. I quickly got a ton of information, from people wanting the reward. A lot of it was crap but some of it was not. I went into AC on a tip and put the flyers out all over, I got even more info and eventually the kid that had the bike contacted me. He wanted to get rid of it because I had gotten so many people looking for it to get the reward. Money talks.

I don't know that area well but I would suggest doing something similar, don't wait on the police they were not very helpful. Good luck..

I agree with Grizz.... its a bike. Out of all material things, my bike is my favorite. However, its a material thing. Did you have it insured? Hope so....

Not exactly that easy is it though. Not everyone can just go out and buy another bike after losing the money that was tied up in their old one.

Thank you bd. I just think you're doing something wrong if you're life is all about making money to buy material things because you think it makes you happy. I love racing and riding, not my bike... If you want something bad enough you can make it happen.

Someone on this forum once said that motocross is not necessary to life. You don't need it to survive. It's a privilege. Whoever that was, he was wise.

Hey Grizz, if that's how you really feel I'll gladly take your bike off your hands for you. Surely you'd be fine with it, seeing as if you want it bad enough you can just go buy another bike?

Before everyone jumps ugly all over Grizz, can we agree it's miles apart from having your bike stolen and being RAPED! So if we are getting get our panties all twisted at Grizz , we better take similar affront to this kid as being done dirty on the same level as one of the most despicable acts that can be done to a human being. I know he was using it as a metaphor so let's all get off our soapboxes at Grizz and get this thread back on track. Try n help find this bike and if you come across it, feel free to kick the thieves teeth down their throught's. Had my 2009 CRF450 stolen. It was 2010 and it had all of 6-8 hours on it so trust me, I know what it's like

^^^^^^this. I really hope he get's his bike back and I can't stand people stealing things. But grizz does make a point. Material possessions can be replaced, eventually. It might take time, money, hard work, etc, but there are some things that can never be replaced. Anyway, I hope you get your bike back and I hope the guy who stole it gets his ass beat.

Until you've had bikes stolen and your house broken into by bunch of low life unemployed thieves too lazy to work for their own- looking to sell them off for drugs and crap while you're at work-making money honestly so you can afford to do a hobby, you can't appreciate the feeling or the rage that goes with it.It's not at all like losing something or wrecking it.
If your Dad or whoever buys you whatever you want Grizz or you have more $$ than you know what to do with and it's nothing to you that's great. Not everybody has that luxury.
The guy had his property stolen from him,I'd never say oh well, just stuff.Every one of them should have their hands cut off when tracked down.I hope the Op's buddy gets it back.Good luck.

Well said. I had a bike stolen from me 3 years ago and im still paying it off (note: get insurance). Have a bike stolen from you from some loser that thinks that its OK to not have to work for what they want because they can just take yours then come back and say "its just a material possession. You can get a new one."

Ala Taliban law. I like it. Get caught stealing lose a hand. Guaranteed not to steal but twice. Well unless they tote it with their teeth.

Some people put their life into their bike. What would any of the Pros do if they had to drop MX all together, not work anywhere in the industry, or talk about it? Some may be nowhere.

Some people can't replace a 7k bike. I couldn't replace mine whatsoever. I should probably get insurance on it, but I don't at the moment. If it was ever stolen, I wouldn't know what to do with myself. My life would be boring as hell.

Bikes mean a lot to people. Maybe you have a bike and you don't feel attached to it, but if it gets stolen, you'll regret it and think about it every passing moment, unless of course you could just buy another, but even if you do, you'll feel violated for having the first one stolen. Have you ever seen those commercials for ADT where the lady says robbers broke in and they didn't take anything, but they took their piece of mind? That's what it'd be like.

Maybe you think it's just a bike, but people get attached to stuff. Like what if your dog died? It's just a dog right? You can get another, RIGHT? You can, but it's not the same.

Walk in someone else's shoes before you judge them.

Sucks for sure hope it was insured.. Still amazing to me some do not get the $8000 investment insured. If u can afford the bike, you can afford the insurance, same goes for health insurance for riders.

Most insurance companies will cut a check to the owner after 30 days of the police report being made. if the bike is not recovered. It might not be as much as you want but, it will help getting another bike if they choose to.

Thank you. I am not condoning theft, I just don't think having your dirt bike stolen should be compared to rape.

Really seems like an "inside" job to me. How do you determine who is a suspect? It's almost impossible to hide your bike completely. I mean keeping it hidden is best but at some point the wrong person will most likely see it.
