It isn't a different story outside. He dominated last year, absolutely. In his only other 450 season outdoors he won because of mechanicals. Two dungey mechanicals actually.

The guy is good , but he's had his speed matched plenty of times. This summer will show a lot.

Seems lie the other racers they can win. Just not as intimidated as earlier.

I was saying the same last night. Not saying the gap hasn't closed, but it is true that Villo usually catches fire about half way.

Also, we should clarify here - indoors*

I don't think anyone other than lappers will smell his farts thru 12 rounds outside.

hate for what?? the only i can truly say about rv is that he is an east coast guy......... my prediction on the championship was either dungey or villy but theres no way villy is goona wrap this up early, 2012 was a gimmie because everybody got hurt ( thats a rib to you dungey haters Tongue ) 2011 & 13 was straight up......... but it seems everybody is in denial about rv racing against this era of competition , everybody has steped their game up & its showing

Not saying RV isn't going to win the title but the major difference I can see between 2013 v 2014. With all RV 's crashes and bad starts last year he was still by far the fastest man on the track wether he won or lost. Where this year the gap has closed a lot. He doesn't have same dominance as he did in 13. Is he still the favorite for the title yes is he still the odds on favorite for the win when the gate drops yes. Will he dominate like last year by winning with big margins I don't think so.

When the racing moves back East you will see a different RV, mark my words...he will go on a tear, you watch. He will be able to use that throttle which suits his style.

Agreed. Just look at the laptimes from the qualifying and races so far this year. Last night, RV had the sixth fastest laptime behind Reed, Dungey, Roczen, Stewart and Barcia.

I think a lot of riders believe they can win races (and the title) and aren't afraid to stuff RV back after he puts an aggressive pass on them.

Only on the box once in 3 races also getting passed and beat straight up by Brayton in that heat race. I can't remember that last time I saw that happen to RV. This gap has narrowed. Which makes for better racing for the fans.
