They type of rhythm sections you find in a GAME and would love to see in real life, but are way to crazy to consistently humanly do, but with today's 450s could be done if the stadiums were three times the size.

Maybe the creators of Reflex took a peek into the future and seen a all new sport called Megacross.

I started playing Unleashed for PS2 again. It's pretty fun because all the tracks are "new" again.
They have a speedometer and I notice I am hitting triples and entering whoop sections at 60mph.. haha

I actually played through all the SX tracks the other day, I really wish they would get those online servers back up. Sad

Thanks for sharing DPW. I am so stoked for everything in the future with Nordic Games in charge. It seems to me that they aren't demanding features like THQ, but rather letting the developers go with what they think will make the game more enjoyable to us.

sweet thanks for posting.. In the beginning the physics looked just like Alive , then later in the video I see some footage of a guy whip/scrubbing a jump and it seemed like it had the flow like reflex.. Seems like there leaning more towards making it look real with stadiums and such.

Boxcar SX in Reflex is pretty much spot on.

Very technical!

There's got to be a legal or political reason why the Reflex engine is off limits, because it obviously is.

I don't think it's off limits. Alive had a pile of SX tracks ready for download. I bet they just took those and will put them into Alive and they have a game to sell to us fast without a lot of cost to them. Maybe, just maybe it does well and they make a game after that with more time and development and we get the good stuff from Reflex. I'm on the bandwagon with Reflex, it's better.

Look what it says on the screen . Alive tournament.

Crap crap crap . Alive is the worst mx game ever and it looks like they r just gonna reboot thq's leftover crap.

If you wanna reboot something reboot reflex ! At least bring back the servers for online play

I will buy it ,good, bad or mediocre. I have all the MX games, some I play a lot some not so much but I will buy it either way.

Watch the Video that has just been posted, and also the video Vital posted just over a week ago and it look pretty clear on what they are doing and it all looks good.

My take on watching all the vids and the info that has come out is they will be releasing a game called MX V ATV Supercross which will be based heavily off the Alive platform. The will create a all new game for 2015 some time.

It does not look like the interm Alive SX game will just be tracks that never seen the day of light going from the above motosport video but will incorporate venues and tracks from the 2014 SX season which is great.

Going from the above video they are also fixing/adjusting the game play and physics from Alive for the 2014 game release.

I will be happy if that is the case. A game we can still play and enjoy sometime this year based on Alive with some fixes, than a all new game in 2015.

Sounds great.

Alive Tournament, according to the Nordic winning bid,, was included in the auction and was probably going to be the Supercross before THQ Phoenix got nixed. I understand a lot of people want Reflex and hey, I like Reflex too, but the studio has only been together for a coupe of months or so. Getting IP together, getting their equipment up and running, acquiring an office space and most importantly getting the core of the team back together. I'm sure they are taking what was worked on already....Tournament....as we do know one of the Vital forum members played some of the new stuff in Vegas.....adding more content to it (like probably new tracks and new riders like Cooper Webb), polishing up the physics, taking the best of all the games and tweaking it into the new Supercross game.

The fact we are getting anything this year makes me so happy. It is the only way possible we will see a game this year in 2014. Then for 2015 we will see a full new build I am sure.

It makes so much sense.

And guys, lets be thankful to Nordic and the new (old) developers. Up until a couple of months ago we thought this franchise (which is the only console MX franchise other than the excellent looking MXGP) was dead and buried. Its back. A great team is on board, ones who love MX and looking forward to this title and even greater ones in the future.

As a MX gaming fan there is nothing at all to be unhappy about. After Alive got nixed we had nothing, nada, zilch. Then Milestone came around with MUD and the much improved looking MXGP and now we finally get a new game based fully on Supercross.

Good times ahead, whether you are a Reflex fan or Alive fan. Good times ahead with Supercross!!

Just because something is better than it could be, does not mean you should settle and not reach for more....

If you have all of the unreleased Alive Supercross stuff, fine, release it...Just don't sell it as an all new game and expect people to pumped about it. If Nordic plans on releasing an all new game in 2015 with more Reflex like physics, then we can wait. But if this is a sign of things to come, it's not a good sign. Alive was a huge step down from Reflex, and most people agree with that. There's a reason the franchise went under......

The Alive physics were absolutely horrible...I mean horrible. It was a game that should be played in an arcade. Not a fun game to play and after I got all the tracks and played online for a bit I was completely over it and went back to Reflex (like every other person I know). Alive hasn't been played in a long time in my house, just like in most others. People don't care as much about the riders. You can put Jesus himself as a rider on the game, but if the gameplay sucks, it still won't be successful.

I'm not trying to be an ass, I'm just saying what most are thinking. I hope Nordic is extremely successful and has new games every year for the next hundred, it's just a little disappointing that the new game is in fact just Alive with different tracks.

Hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Fair enough. For me, something is better than nothing. Hopefully the Reflex fans can find something to enjoy out of Supercross. I'm a fan of both Reflex and Alive but I'm also very critical of both as well as they both have major shortcomings, in my opinion. I want something much better than both of them. And feel confident the new team will get us there eventually, given time and support.

I don't understand how you guys don't get this. Nordic purchased the title (thank you Nordic) and is releasing what they can as soon as they can (thank you Nordic). They have made it clear that they would like to continue the series (thank you Nordic) and want to pull the old developers in and listen to what the audience wants (thank you Nordic).

You guys need to pull your heads out of your asses and buy the game to support a company that wants to continue the only franchise worth a damn in moto gaming. Do you think your snobby, "This isn't perfect and exactly what I wanted! I won't be buying this!" encourages them do invest a cent into this?

Look at the bigger picture! If we show this company that this niche sport will buy the games they make for us, guess what?! They'll continue to make games for us! However, if we show them that we're a bunch of assholes who won't buy the game because it's not 100% perfect even though they gave us a quick turn around to hold us over, they will not want to continue to make games for us. Who wants to spend the money required to make a game when nobody buys it?

Some of you dumbasses really blow my mind. Nothing like openly embracing ignorance...

Exactly.

What Nordic is doing makes total sense. Smart business move. And it is up to US, the MX gaming community to show them we appreciate their commitment to this franchise but supporting them with our dollars and ideas and constructive criticism.

As you said. Thank you, Nordic.

Agreed!! This will just be a step forward. If you are a gamer buy it and support Nordic and hopefully they learn from it and build something even better for the next release.

Tear off and Roll off system where you screen basicly gets roosted when your not in first position would be a cool bonus feature. pulling the tear off or roll off automatically looses time when your on the ground so sometimes you'll have to be patient until a jump to pull a tear off without loosing time. This feature will become more interesting as you will have to find alternate lines on the track without getting roosted all the time.
And make sure there is a Max of 14 flippers for a race or 28 roll off pulls this feature should be an epic scenery in online racing. and would make races that much harder as you will not always be able to hit the perfect lines

Saturday Night Speedway for PS2 had a tear off system. It was pretty cool, and didn't get dirty unless you were in traffic. But I think on Alive and Reflex you're already using most of the buttons all the time. Maybe could use R1 for tear offs, then R1 + joystick movements for stunts. I dunno. I think over-complicating it would hurt its appeal to the masses. Us core guys would love it, but most others would get frustrated.

the franchise went under because THQ took all the power from the guys creating the game. the guys that matter had zero say in any of the major decisions.

no problem with having an opinion.

i'll pick up the new game as will any moto-game fan.

Alive wasn't perfect but neither was Reflex.

anyone else spot js7 @ the 1:17 mark in that vid? That's what it looked like to me at least.

i'll gladly take anything, just got reflex and i'm working my way through it. It's got a lot of stuff down better than alive but there are some serious issues that people just gloss over and stamp it as WAY better than alive.. It's definitely more realistic, alive went for a more user friendly easier to pick up format it looks like to me.

Somewhere in between is probably best.

i'll be buying whatever they put out on the first go round because i really hope the sales numbers makes sense and they're greenlighted to do a full fresh game in 15.

It won't be perfect, and this board will certainly scream and whine but it's definitely going to be better than nothing new imo.

10). Allow online racing community.
