Outdoors for sure still a top five guy and if he can pull it all together still a race winner.

SX I just don't see him inside the top ten, maybe a race or two here or there but that is about it, maybe a little more so with Canard and Millsaps out of the opening rounds he may be able to squeeze inside the top ten.

Villopoto
Dungey
Reed
Stewart
Barica
Roczen
Tomac
Weimer
Short
Hill
Brayton
Grant
Hahn

Add Millsaps and Canard to that list and he is a top 10-15 rider in 2014 at best, though I don't mind being proved wrong Smile

dunno why anyone questions parkboys...the dude is on it when it comes to remembering crazy statistics.

nothing against mike but the day he wins a supercross is the day the rest of the field got taken out in the first turn. hes a good outdoor rider and mediocre supercross at best. Weston has better odds of winning a supercross than MA800. (go weston).

ma800 rides for what is behind him...weston attacks and rides for whats in front of him. you can see it from a mile away.

He just needs to get off on a good foot. Look at all the experience he has in the bag.

Giving a 100% to sx? Then why has he been traveling all over the country racing local events and not training like his competition was? Lucky if he makes the mains....

Was that for the whole night or just the main?

Seattle is a different breed of track. If you get the holeshot it would be easier to put in the fastest lap at the beginning on a smoother and less Ruttier track, so I'm not surprised he did that on the very first lap when the track is at it's best and he's In the lead.

Ole Mikey was at his best in 2009 also, believe he even got his only 450 podium that year in Indy

To much talent, coming through the ranks.

Mike does need to keep it consistent and turn twist the throttle when able and place top five. more times than not. He has the skill and strength. Just needs to find his grove on the track and leave fear in the dust...

I can not recall which PulpMX show it was...but DV was team manager at MC when they decided to hire MA (and Tony). It is the reason he decided to quit being a team manager. He mainly did not want to be around for the drama. But he also recommended against MA as a SX rider for a number or reasons:
#1: He does not have the full set of SX skills, and never will, because he is not committed to developing them.
#2: He is not willing to take the risks that the guys who have the skills are.
#3: The Alessi group in general is always looking for an excuse. When things are not right...they are too quick to blame equipment....and start chasing set ups...changing things...when the equipment is not the issue.

That is a bad combo. Down on skills..and down on balls = not a factor in SX. Barring a major attitude and outlook re-boot...MA will never be a factor in SX.

Mike had nothing to do with that. That was 100% Jeff...who is an idiot.

Alessi can't be a very good or even great SX rider. He should be finishing in the top 5 consistantly with his determination, work ethic and riding skills. He said he is for the first time ever, giving SX his100% undivided attention and concentration. C'Mon Mike ...YOU CAN DOOO IT!
Bobby
Mike has learned to ride sx this fall. May sound strange but he has been properly educated on exactly how to do it. Expect
800 to deliver in 2014 sx.

Well, better late than never. I kind of agree with BobbyM. There is no reason why Alessi can't be good at SX. He just hasn't focused on SX like he has MX. He's still young and has more years to race, and get good at it.
