Earlier this summer I was surfing craigslist late one night trying to locate parts for a 1984 YZ250 project I was trying to get ready for Mid-Ohio. I stumble upon an ad for a 82 YZ250, the first thing that caught my eye was the LOP stickier on reservoir (I always put those on my YZ's) the next was the local shop stickier on the swing arm, I was the only guy out of that shop racing a 82 YZ250 (not Yamaha's best bike). I called the salvage yard the next morning, told the kid I was on my way. 1 1/2 hours later I was looking at my old friend, still wearing most of the stickers, bars, grips and a welded frame repair that I sold it with back in Dec 1982. Since finding it I've gathering pieces for the rebuild, I'm dropping off the frame this week for powder coating. My goal is to have it ready for the opening round of the AMA vintage series May (Athens, Ohio)

Truth be known this bike turned me off 250's for a long time, but I almost won district 11 250B Championship on it. Missing by only a few points. Why ? because I skipped a Honda Hills race to go out with some girl I was dating at the time. As I recall my Mom was pissed! I really liked my 82 YZ125 a lot better than then the 250. In 83 I moved up to expert and raced 125's only. And still consider myself 125 pilot
