How strong of a pressure washer...

I had a gas powered john deere pressure washer but mt ex step dad took it with him when he split. I am borrowing this big ole ancient electric one right now but the hose is crap. I found a 1750 psi pressure washer on craigslist for 50 bucks. Will it work? Thanks foe the help!

I would like to know the same thing. I am shopping for a power washer and the best deal (new) I have found is an electric 1800psi from Home Depot for $175. I'm not sure if this is enough or not. If it's not I'm going to jump up to 2500psi gas.

I would think that would be OK. I have a Dewalt, I think 3200 psi but I always run it no more than about 1/2 throttle and it works like a charm. Mud comes off easy and if you have a good degreaser then you should have no prob.

I use a 2400psi Honda powered washer I got at Costco for $300. Works awesome for even thick clay mud.

I have a big Dewalt gas unit I use at home, but have a small electric I take to the track because it takes less water to wash the bike (which I must bring with me). But it does take a lot more time, probably 4 times longer.

I only use my pressure washer to clean the driveway and wash the truck. Pressure washers inject water/dirt into places on the bike that you really don't want it to be, even when you are careful.

It's Shout and a garden hose for me.

Just get a cheap one where ever you can. It will do the job fine. The places you don't want to hit hard, just get further back with it. You don't need super pressure. You really don't want it. Hose is good at home, but at the track between motos, you need something else. Get a cheap one, it'll last a couple years, then throw it away and get another one.

Mines max is 2,200. I use the softer nozzles on the bike. A wash mitt and hose work fine also for the bike.

This. I found a "firemans" nozzle at the fair for about $30. I call it a poormans pressure washer. It puts out enough pressure but not a literal ton. I usually do a broad spray and be patient.
Pressure washers are great if you are rebuilding your bike every week.

We don't all live in california. There is some mud up north that would make you shit your pants.

But yea, the weekly rebuild actually sounds pretty average for riders of the pacific northwest.
