Haha I copied it from the thread title, but to be honest I couldn't pick her out of a lineup if you had a gun to my head.
I'd guess it's like one of those "worst wrecks ever" type shows they have on SpikeTv.

My guess is Mike will do just fine talking and making the sport look good.

Mike on Katie Couric? He can (and does) do better. She isnt much to look at these days.

Must've been pretty awkward with his wife and father sitting there watching.

I guess, but do you think any casual viewer will come away from that saying "Gee, I wanna try it. And my kids too! C'mere honey- look at this guy getting flattened by a pack of bikes. Let's try this stuff!"

Motocross is often (unjustly) viewed as a backyard freakshow, done by insane people. Focusing on the carnage doesn't help.
Exactly.

Just about everyone here has seen those guys in their worst moments.

Seeing a 7 year old win his first Loretta's championship would be much more positive. Now, gotta go search it out for the dvr...

Mike is a good guy. But it's gonna be a while before this goes away.

This is bad press Alessi

My guess is that his currently tarnished rep will be offset by his appearance on this show.

Go 800, all of the sudden an ambassador for the sport.

Too easy....

Katie was looking for a motocrosser and her producer said the Alessi family was the most laser focused of them all.

Anyone else wish they featured Reed's 'chadapult' crash? where he got back up and kept charging and all the mechanics waved him by on the next lap. showing how brave mx riders are and how close and respectful the people in our sport are even at the elite level..
would show our sport so much better in my opinion..

As they say, any press is good press. Mike is generally fairly well spoken and articulate. Doesn't drop too many 'bro's', 'sick's', or other flat biller BS that seems to be commonly associated with the sport.

Although not relative to this generations motocrossers such as Alessi's crash in 08 or Chad Reeds crash in 2011, if there was ever an inspirational story about how tough and brave motocrossers are that come back from horrible injuries, it would be Doug Henry hands down.

I hope they gave Tony a sedative before they taped the show, or at least a shock collar. In the pic they all look pretty darn normal.

Good point, or Maybe Trey Canard and his fight to get back to his racing form after that horrific SX accident.

Both great stories. But I would imagine they were going more for the "shock" factor. Chad was amazing to be able to get up and ride after that. Trey is one bade dude who has faught massive adversity. But I think seeing a guy lay there limp & lifeless being landed on 5+ times by 200lb machines creates more of the "shock" factor I assume the producers were looking for.

I'd guess it's like one of those "worst wrecks ever" type shows they have on SpikeTv.

My guess is Mike will do just fine talking and making the sport look good.
