Went by the Butler "California" Shop, yesterday. They have a coupl'a bikes that they're finishing up...for sale. I remember seeing a thread about this...a while back...and, as usual, the Peanut Gallery had PLENTY of comments about what IS or IS NOT on the bikes; so, we are gonna straighten it out...right here, right now...

Here's what IS on the bikes I saw in Cali...for $8500:

Fresh Orange painted Frame

Really NIce and/or Fresh Plastic
FMF Pipe and Freshly re-built muffler
Galfer 270mm Tsunami Front Rotor
Galfer Tsunami Rear
Fresh Pirelli Scorpions
Raptor Ti pegs
"Pag Armor" covers (1 set was painted Orange...like the FRAME)
Akro Carbon Skid-Plate (KTM "Race" part)
"KTM SERVICE" Engine...Hello!
Fresh Talon Org sprocket
Fresh RK Chain
Brand New Stk Suspension
Brand New Stk Wheels
ODI Bars & Grips
Hinson Clutch/Stk cover
Factory Pleat Seat
Fresh BTO Graphics (Goerke on this particular bike)

Oh, and...get this...Assembled by the very same guys and the VERY SAME WAY the Team Bikes are built.

Also, they have a FRESH-BRAND-NEW '13 450 that they're putting plenty of the same goodies on; but, STOCK MOTOR. Again, $8500.

Note: These are the Last-Model-Year for the cases with a Kick-Starter "boss"...that's a Good Thing for those of you that actually do more than just Track-Riding. A Kick-start kit can be installed along w/ an XC-EXC tank and you're on your way to Kurt Caselli Land. For 2014, KTM has a Head-Light (Finally!) that works w/ the "SX I-Beam" front fender, too.

So, there ya go: A Team scoot for $8500. If ya REALLY want the "Big-Boy Suspension"? You can get that from KTM...

I'm gonna say it: These are Sooooooooooo much better than just another "Brand-New" bike. Why? It simply comes down to to how, and by whom, they're "built by". When it comes to JR and the Butler Crew? Well, Andrew rides for'em. 'Nuff said.

Not sure what sticker price is on a new KTM 450, but seems like a good deal for me especially with the clutch, exhaust & brakes.

Is the motor pretty stock or pretty modified? If it were me, I'd prefer more stock, unfortunately I'm not in the market, just more curious than anything.

The KTM service motors have all the good stuff and they're put together REALLY WELL. I'd call'em "Better" even when discussing longevity.

Remember, the power is always "tunable" via the KTM Tuner that you can get.

Right on, man I'd love to be able to pick one up.

If I'm ever in the market for a "new" bike it'll definitely be a race team bike. A buddy just picked up one of Paul Whinleys Yamahas and it is awesome!

I bought a RMZ 450 from them last year and been really happy with the bike and Forrest Butler is a great guy even though I didn't get a signed Michael Byrne jersey he promised (cough cough).

Mine was Byrnes bike from 2011 and he was hurt most of the year. Mine has a pro circuit head hinson the whole 9 yards. 8k shipped to my house for a new bike aint too bad.

Mxa did a write up on the service motors. The 350sxf package is/was $3200 and made 58hp which is 1hp more than mxas stock 450 so that should give you an idea on the bike.

They had a couple of the bikes at Palmetto Motorsports. They certainly look trick, but I had a few questions that I could not get answered. They kept saying that the motor was "freshend", but could not tell me what that actually means. Also, what kind of hours were put on these bikes? Were these practice bikes or actual race bikes?

The "Florida" bikes from this season should be identical to what we're discussing here. The Team doesn't let anything get too "used". Read the other post(s) about this group & the bikes they've sold.

These bikes are waaaaay beyond those $9-10K Stockers (KTM) that you could buy. That's how I see it. If you went and bought a New '14 and added the goodies...I'm guessing ...$13K+? Plus, I see the Kick-Starter/EXC-XC in disguise capability as a BIG "plus".

How would you know what to replace wear parts with (piston, rings, etc)? And where would you get them? All I can find online is the complete factory services engine kit, not individual parts.

I'm not gonna lie. One of those would be sweet but if it's got a true "factory" motor I wouldn't want it. They build those motors so hot they only last about 5hours. (If it is the true engine that short and Goerke run). There's a reason they rebuild the motor every weekend. But if it's the ktm service motor they would be sick. But on the other hand riding a factory built bike just for a day would be bad ass

Could you post this pic any more often? 3-4 times a day just isn't enough.

Do you even ride it, or just leave it sitting there in the woods? Maybe start your own thread, and post all your pics there? (Oh, wait, you DO have your own thread....) Maybe keep posting the same pic over and over in that thread?

It's like being married to a beautiful woman. You love and appreciate her the first few years, but after awhile...you get tired of her. All of a sudden, she's still hot to everyone else, but you...so you look for other hot girls.....

his KTM is that hot wife...she was great the first few times, but now, it's worn out and tired.

Well, I think rocketsocks's ride would make anyone think twice. Of course I would have to search for a different looking front fender.Cool

How much sweeter would it be if it was a 150 or 250sx though? Just sayin.....
