I love this idea and think it would definitely be good for our sport. Don't know of to many people ( none really) that don't long for the sound of a two stroke with a pro caliber rider aboard!

We just need DC to cross that barrier and take a little risk. IMO it would be less of a risk than the WMX even with the factory support they had. Everyone knows it will go over.

We got the semi's back in SX.

We got Glen Helen back on the outdoor schedule.

Now if we could just get a professional 125 class back everything would be perfect in the world.

Me and my gray hair out at Canyon Raceway in Phoenix today. I love my 125s, just love em. This video is outstanding, particularly the narration. Almost made me a little misty eyed.

Gorr does real good work IMHO. He has done a few big bores for me and had great reliability and performance. I know there are a few other guys who do good work too. Stay away from Athena. Costs more and questionable quality.

$1800 (total bike) Suzuki 144 against $6K 250F's 15 on the line here, he finished 3rd. At Dade City MX so a few good riders here. You'll need TDC 2 Stroke Performance to get starts like these.

I would love to see a 125/250 east coast two stroke pro/am six race championship series. Bring back Southwick and Broome and maybe show case one race on a Friday before a National. Any pro who wants to mix it up with the local two stroke fast guys can join the party at any race.

Yes it is but then again I'm a bit of a Honda nut case from that era. Depending on who you ask though the debate between the 79 and the 80 model can go on quite a while. Out of the box, the 80 out revs the 79 but a simple carb, pipe or ignition swap seems to equal all of those differences out. Best part is, the 79 and 80 model lower ends are basically identical with the exception that the 80 model is supposed to have a better crank bearing situation. Never had the two apart side by side but the 80 seem to be the go to lower. 79 and 80 top ends will swap from one to another so you could "experiment" for yourself. 79 model is a side port exhaust for a single downtube frame and the 80 is center port for a twin or split downtube if this is a bike project. Also, the 79 is a chrome plated bore if it hasn't been sleeved where the 80 is a cast iron bore.

Aftermarket pistons such as Wiseco show the same piston fitting from 79-84 but 79, 80 ,81....all have different length cutaways on the intake side of stock Honda pistons. I'm no engine builder and have no idea how the cutaway affects port timing, but the one size fits all Wiseco needs to be noted. You can take a stock Honda piston from a 74-78 model (piston port/no cutaway) and make your own custom one if need be. Also, those will get you up 2.0 mm to a 58mm bore.Smile

79 stock Honda piston is a single ring, all a/m ones are double.
