It would die of loneliness.
Guys a fuckin comedian, he should be doing stand up.
Let me educate you....
Ryan Dungey came straight out of the B class, right to factory Suzuki and won a supercross within 7 months.
Prior to that he got 7th OA at the Springcreek national.
I belive it was his first national (He was a B rider the weekend before)- he also beat Metcalfe & Boniface both motos and smoked Chatfield.
The beauty of the the World Championship at the moment is that it's so open, both MX1 and MX2 are going right down to the wire this year. There are only a couple of races to go and its almost impossible to call who is going to be champion in each class.
We had our era of one rider domination, and to be honest I got so sick of Everts winning in MX1 all the time it actually put me off for a few years.
If I had to choose three riders to take out I'd probably say Cairolli would be one, who unfortunately is already out through injury, but other than that I honestly couldn't choose between any of the other riders in the top 5 of both classes.
Jog on sunshine
Langston, Reed, Townley, C. Pourcel (when he's not injured), Byrne, and MacFarlane all compete at the top end of AMA National and SX Championships..
Granted, you do indeed have Allessi, Stewart, Villipotatoe, Dungey, Short, Tedeso etc, but take the foreign fella's out, thing's would be fairly equal overall.
That's not me saying the yanks would get beat, but it would be a close battle if it were, say, a Ryder Cup type event for example..
If's and but's I know, but it's the only real way a comparison could be drawn.
Injuries have sucked this year on both sides... they always do.
There's also the fact that another international type event of this magnitude would, in affect, be competing against the Nations, and Youth Stream would not like that one bit....not unless their pockets were being lined of course.
Maybe they could change the lay out the Nations for one year as a trial; pitch GP against AMA (top ten of each class) and have a seperate trophy for the top scoring country, kinda like they do with the best scoring individual at the moment..
Pit Row
i'm surprized that there aren't a lot top riders from california!
His best result (this year) in the European Championship MX2 was a 10th place in the 2de heat in France. I saw him riding in Markelo (Dutch EC Gp) and he was being lapped.
The kid is only 14 and rides with a lowered seat and bars.
We will see in a couple of years
For you guys in Europe that don't get it, our farm system cannot be compared to yours (do you even have one or do you guys just start racing in the GP's?).
TheHoff, you are going to slam RD because his SX win was on the east coast? You guys can't even ride SX!
