I have to admit my heritage. My last name is the same as one of those little countries over yonder. It was kinda funny when we got our box van painted and had "England Racing" on the side, how many people with funny accents would start chatting us up like they knew us. I think me being so slow is what made it believable, though.

And most importantly, why do they think they have anyone that will be anywhere near RV and JBS? Especially on a SX'ish style track. This could be a worst beating for them than last year.
You'll find that first paragraph, word for word, on message boards all over the rest of the world, but aimed at your great selves.

It a vicious circle, and as long as there's people like you around, it ain't gunna change..

If Americans are so much better than we are why is it that most Americans can't wait to tell you they are 1/2 Irish or 1/4 german or whatever ?

If we ( Europeans) are such a bunch of wankers why would you want to have any association with us at all ?

Honestly though, all you guys keep saying that you know bubbles and RV have all the GP riders covered and if you take them out of the equation, then you guys would win. I call bullshit on that. You can't take away our best riders and then pound your chest that you will win... If you want to take away the outliers, take away bubbles and RV and then take away your two fastest guys...

Bottom line, and I said this somewhere else, our top B riders would give your top 10 through 20 riders fits. Our top ten against your top 10? JBS, RV, Dungey, in that order before the first of your guys...

If I could edit this post I would, but I just want to highlight the part about taking out the top riders; You have two obvious choices, where as we don't.

The beauty of the the World Championship at the moment is that it's so open, both MX1 and MX2 are going right down to the wire this year. There are only a couple of races to go and its almost impossible to call who is going to be champion in each class.

We had our era of one rider domination, and to be honest I got so sick of Everts winning in MX1 all the time it actually put me off for a few years.

If I had to choose three riders to take out I'd probably say Cairolli would be one, who unfortunately is already out through injury, but other than that I honestly couldn't choose between any of the other riders in the top 5 of both classes.

You sure about that..?

Langston, Reed, Townley, C. Pourcel (when he's not injured), Byrne, and MacFarlane all compete at the top end of AMA National and SX Championships..

Granted, you do indeed have Allessi, Stewart, Villipotatoe, Dungey, Short, Tedeso etc, but take the foreign fella's out, thing's would be fairly equal overall.

That's not me saying the yanks would get beat, but it would be a close battle if it were, say, a Ryder Cup type event for example..

If's and but's I know, but it's the only real way a comparison could be drawn.

No, I am not enjoying this outdoor series... or even the SX before... I am not a fan of a rider dominating and I wish we had a different winner every weekend. But for some reason, we always have a rider that steps up and dominates a while. It does get boring and I envy you guys on the uncertainty of your series. 5 motos to go and both championships are wrapped up... boring.

Injuries have sucked this year on both sides... they always do.

I would love a Ryder cup style event, US vs the world. Top 20 in points in both classes on both sides of the pond... but how to get it paid for???

That is the question, and I can't ever see it happening because of this..

There's also the fact that another international type event of this magnitude would, in affect, be competing against the Nations, and Youth Stream would not like that one bit....not unless their pockets were being lined of course.

Maybe they could change the lay out the Nations for one year as a trial; pitch GP against AMA (top ten of each class) and have a seperate trophy for the top scoring country, kinda like they do with the best scoring individual at the moment..

Im just kind of glad that RC has retired so we don't have to face Carmichael, Stewart & Villopoto in the same team. You can keep your Basketball, that would have been The Dream Team right there!

have u seen a map of the world? Check out how big the us is and compare it to how small europe is. America has got proberbly 3 or 4 times as much motocross riders then europe. It's only fair to compare the us against all europe. If the us had to split all they riders from where there from then u woudn't win the des nations either Stewart ,FL; Short, Colorado; Ferry, FL; Nick wey , michigan; alessi's, south carolina; Josh Hill, Washinton, Millsaps ,Georgia ; villo, washinton,Dungey; minnesota, Weimer ;idaho, Izzi;michigan, Sipes; kentucky , Canard oklahoma....

i'm surprized that there aren't a lot top riders from california!

i havent seen any euros saying that we have a rider thats better than bubbles and villopoto, pure and simply because we dont ! every other AMA rider i think that for sure we have someone that could beat them. I think that if something there was something like an AMA vs World Champs race where the top 10 AMA guys face our top 10 i think that we would have definatly take the win overall.

hahah yeh ok u keep telling yourself that, if u look at the top 5 amateur riders that have been racing this year im pretty sure you'll see that 2 of those amateurs are british ( max anstie, steve clarke ), dont start comparing your amateur riders to our GP riders because its just never going to get anywhere because your amateurs cant come over and beat our amateurs in the world champs. I think the only american amateur that has won a race over here is blake wharton, villopoto got beat pretty badly a few years ago and james bubble stewart couldnt even beat kevin strijbos on mini's

If we are going to start talking amateurs what about Ken Roczen. He is such a big deal in europe and he will be riding for a gp team next year.He came over to Lorreta's this year and could hardly get in the top ten in the B class. But i will give him respect for coming over here to race though.

This excuse is bullshit. If population size was the determining factor than CHINA would have the most motocross racers and be winning the mxon every year.

I'm not into this whole excuse thing, but if you're going to argue against it, China's probably not the best country to use..

Belgians Shocked ?

His best result (this year) in the European Championship MX2 was a 10th place in the 2de heat in France. I saw him riding in Markelo (Dutch EC Gp) and he was being lapped.
The kid is only 14 and rides with a lowered seat and bars.
We will see in a couple of years Wink

To make this exciting, we really should send our main team and two alternates... one made up of the guys running behind RV and JBS every weekend... I'm sure they would still win... and then one with our top 3 national B riders. I'm not delusional, I know the B guys wouldn't win but it would be great to see them on the podium.

For you guys in Europe that don't get it, our farm system cannot be compared to yours (do you even have one or do you guys just start racing in the GP's?).

TheHoff, you are going to slam RD because his SX win was on the east coast? You guys can't even ride SX!

Honestly, like I said you're in for a shock. We have never had a farm system, well not in Britain but countries like Italy and France do. Thats why the French are good at supercross. But us Brits have got some good riders coming up like Max Anstie and Scuba Steve so the next few years in the battle between The USA & Europe is only going to get better.
