...where the guy's knee was all tweaked out to one side? The reminded me of that one, but sort of a modern version. The good news was that Taylor Robert got back up afterwards.

Makes you wonder what would "give" if he was wearing a knee brace. Maybe a tib/fib fracture. The doc that worked on my knee talked about all the innovations in knee protection over the last decade but spoke about many of these new braces that limit the body's built in mechanisms for give and movement. He said the body is built for some tweaking and stretching and by making things rigid and isolated, it causes other damage that otherwise wouldn't have happened.

I would rather break my tib/fib AND femur before blowing a knee out.

I guess that's same logic that applies to not wearing a neck brace...ooops did I really say that out loud?

Looks to me like he IS wearing knee braces but it turned on his leg rather than holding his leg secure. Anyone else see that?

Btw, this guy didn't get hurt too bad either. He was a little sore for a week...no surgery required.

Broken femur - Check (and a broken hip at the same time for bonus points!)

Thanks man, but I don't really see it as too big of a deal. I just wanted to ride and be happy, so I did what I had to do.

And then somebody started the Extremity Games and I happened to be the fastest gimp for a while. I'm not quite done yet though. I won't get tired at the next X Games!

Edit: If I can come back and win another gold medal, that would be huge to me. I'm old! Mike and Todd have really stepped up their game and if Josh Demuth signs up, we're all racing for second anyway!

Yep! I lost 12 pounds in a couple hours and kept it off too! Lol

I did have some dude at a pizza place (where Team Green lives) pray for a new leg to grow back. It was weird! I'm not a lizard! And this guy was dead nuts serious...
