Happiest countries in the World

I knew there was a reason I moved to HOLLAND!!!!!

Those looking for greater happiness and satisfaction in life should head to northern Europe, but steer clear of Egypt and countries worst hit by the eurozone crisis, according to the 2013 World Happiness Report released Monday by Columbia University's Earth Institute.

Denmark, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden are the world's happiest countries, according to the survey of 156 countries. Rwanda, Burundi, the Central African Republic, Benin and Togo -- all nations in Sub-Saharan Africa -- are the least satisfied with their lives, the report said.

The United States came in at number 17 in the world in terms of overall happiness, but it still lags behind Canada (6), Australia (10), Israel (11) the United Arab Emirates (14) and Mexico (16), according to the Earth Institute.

The report ranks the United Kingdom as the 22nd happiest country in the world. Other major nations included Germany (26), Japan (43), Russia (68) and China (93).

Herlings and Coldenhoff. but that Rutte guy is destroing the rest of the happynes.

My country (The Netherlands) is being absolutely assraped by Socialism (and immigration of primitive people). Ofcourse there are alot of people happy, because there are large groups of people receiving huge sums of money for doing absolutely fucking nothing!!

They should ask the working man or the business owners how they feel!!

Other then that we don't have any nature, no mountains nothing, and it's fucking crowded.

I would be much happier in the US. But it hurts me to see that country is going downhill as wel.

Folks in smaller countries seem to be more happier than in large countries, the conclusion size does matter

To be fair, you are right, it's not bad at the moment, but I see this country go downhill very fast, Socialism is taking it's toll now, all the socialist spending in the past has to be paid back now, Dutch people have the highest private debts in the world.

Best organized, well yeah, insane amounts of (tax)laws.

Another problem is the (muslim) immigration, and the costs and crime that comes with it.

High taxes mean well run country. I am never against high taxes. Not sure if Dutchies have the highest private debts, they don't put anything on credit.

Loved the Netherlands when our family was there for a quick trip (far too long ago). Among the nicest people we experienced in Europe.

Holland might have things very well organized but ur government is giving away money by the billions, Greece might need another loan( I don't know why they call it loan it's not like we're ever going to see that money again) of several billions, Italy is struggling, berlusconi haha , united Europe yeah great, meanwhile the working man keeps paying for this, a little more taxes here and there

I am a big believer in high taxes. Low taxes usually mean a country doesn't have enough money to run well. Doesn't seem so strange to me.

I am not a fan of an open Europe. I don't think it's helped Holland, and I agree, giving money to Greece and other countries sucks.
