Reeds the biggest attention whore this sports ever seen. Considering his sub par results this year he must be pumped people still eat up every twitter post like starving pigeons and start a dozen pointless threads a week about him.

I can hear it now when his results aren't up to usual Chad Reed standards. "We were behind the eight ball from the start since I didn't finalize my deal until mid-late September, because I didn't get to sign with my preferred bike of choice. Then we had to wait another month on the factory parts to be shipped from Mars and another week for assembly before we could began testing, all while personally negotiating with a second rider for my team. Also need to inform everyone my knees at 60%, I have a ingrown toe nail and I'm dealing with some issues I don't wanna talk about. Not making any excuses but once I get comfortable, I'm healthy & I get my "issues" fixed I will be up front battling for podiums."

I like Reedy & really hope he returns to form but he needs to focus more time on riding/training and testing enough the ensure he's comfortable on his factory bike. Less time on the damn computer and shifter carts.

Parts from mars, that's hilarious. Honestly I think Chad is doing a damn Good job getting himself, his brand and all his sponsors tons of attention in the offseason and into the new SX season. He's no dummy, he's a smart guy. He's gotta make the sponsors happy, and right now even with not being on the podium and the season over, every idiot on the Internet is keeping him in the conversation 24/7. Well played Chad. He's keeping himself the center of attention just from his fingertips to the phone in between motos & closing deals. And people really thinks he's at home on his desktop hahahaha

Has he done the sprinkler or the worm yet?

I wouldn't call him an attention whore. That is something someone would say who is full of envy. Instead he has a huge sense of humor. And the very medium that brings this sport so much hearsay and drama he uses to entertain himself. Hence your reply here. I call that genius. Hence the number of post and page views of this post.

I never said Chad hasn't done a great job building a powerful respected team and keeping them relevant threw struggling times. I'm sure Chad and his sponsors would prefer to garner attention from quality results and not being the king of the gossip gooses on the internet chasing stolen table cloths.

well this season he started off with VERY little testing due to his off season surgery, and knee rehab...thats why I find the secret blaming of the bike (and publicly stating it wasnt the bike) quite bizarre.

I hope he kills it next year... on whatever non-Honda brand he has picked to ride.

wont it have to be homogolated by the AMA first? i.e. a one off limited run like the Dungey Replica? Even if its only plastic changes?

That makes sense. That's what I hear Tyla Rattray and Todd Waters are running in MXGP in 2014. And in the MX2 class Romain Febvre and Alexandr Tonkov.

Chad is running an effective marketing arm without much overhead. He sends a few tweets here and there and the Vitards latch on and get sucked in. All this interest he builds simply gives him something to present to potential sponsors as not only a solid fan base, but loyal customers who will buy what he's selling. That's the idea anyways. Chad is using this type of marketing to perfection and the more we talk about him, the better it gets for him.

He's no fool, I promise you that!

Reed is not the Attention Whore - Vitards are!

All Reed does is periodically throw a piece of RED MEAT into the cage and him and the industry watches and laughsSmile

Pretty funny when you step back and take a look at the whole picture. LOL

That's exactly right, he's not the one making a big deal out of it, it's all the Vitards that are doing that.

Yes sir, Word is just like Dungy's (Gay)tm they will produce the required # to make it work. It's not what you know it's who you know! So you people shouldn't be so judge mental because I'm a nobody in the industry, I just happen to hear about these things. I find it amusing to watch so many people who know absolutely nothing say they know so much?

Welcome to two weeks ago. The Rattray- MXGP -Husky deal is old news.

What exactly is an industrial grapevine? Is that where Night-train and MD20/20 come from?

Lets see a show of hands.......how many people have went out and bought Two Two backed products because of all this drama? It was funny for awhile.....now it's just a Kardashianoly or whoever they are type of thing.

At some point it's all fluff if there is no substance behind it and for the past year he has blamed everyone but himself.

I hope he comes back as strong as he was in early 2012.....it's good for the sport, but I have my doubts......the top guys aren't getting slower and Chad ain't getting any younger.

Talk about him all you like, but it's a bit rich for people to be calling him an attention whore because he posted something on twitter and then the Vitards got hold of it and ran with it.

Maybe the pic he posted was of Byrner's Kato with a white front mudder. Unsure
He did mention something about waiting for the FedEx man.

I believe he's just having fun, not running a masterplan to promote his sponsor, since he has none! Well, discount tires and the Monster helmet, but since he has no bike yet he's not shown and therefore, doesn't promote shit for now.

And posting a couple littles baits a week doesn't interfere with his physical training... doesn't take that long you know. Guarantee he spends a lot less time tweeting than some of us spend reading this pages full of nothing.

People who think they are entitled to advice him on what should be his daily routine really need to get a life, or at least to STFU. The same people who claim that he's done will prob be the forst ones to say they always knew he was the greatest rider ever when he wins another race.

Lame.

I'm thinking they might not have to, just like the the 'MCR' bike. If they change the plastic colour and the rest of the bike is KTM don't see why they would need to go through that

Even though they are the same bike, if he ran a KTM with white plastics and Husqvarna decals, he would have to register it as a KTM and the results would show KTM, just like MA800's results show Suzuki. Not exactly good promotion for the Husky brand, IMO.

Is the fact that this 15-page epic of a thread has dropped off the front page an indication that Chad has beaten this horse to go as long as it will go...and even the Vitards don't really care any more? Or have the Vitards done the beating for Reedy?
