does anyone pay MSRP on tires?

Edited Date/Time 9/3/2013 10:41am
I saw in the parts unlimited book that a bridgestone m404 110/90-19 is $170. but my dealer discounts it to 98. my question is does anyone actually pay $170 for them?

Some of the shops around here sell tires at cost to help drive in customers. I think I paid $74 each for my last set of 403/404's

No one. I am a dealer and you can buy them for what I get them for. Its a loss leader for the mail-order houses. I keep a few and sell some but for the most part its not something I go after. I can compete on most everything but I don't even try on tires. It is what it is and I don't lose sleep over it.

Dunlops last about 2 weeks. I think they are absolute garbage, unless they r free, or extremly discounted. The above listed michellins last pretty dam good. Brigestones are also very good. I understand why all the factory team riders bitch ever since bridgestone pulled out. Dunlops suck.

I've also found Dunlops to not last nearly as long as Bridgestones. I guess that's why I keep using them.

Check out MotoSport.com and if you're really in a pinch the Artrax tires aren't bad at all. $90.00 bucks a set!
