RULES ?

Our district requires you to attend a minimum of 11 races to qualify for the end of year points championship. BUNK!!! What if you cant afford to attend that many races or work most weekends or get hurt bad on the 10th race ??? Anybody else doing this? if so Why?

Because they want you to attend most of the rounds. It makes perfect sense to me. Any series I have raced is like this. Typically you can't miss more than 2 rounds.

That's the nature of the beast. Sucks, but I understand. Promoters need people to commit to so many races so they can cover cost, make money, etc. People showing up for onesies and twosies isn't gonna pay the bills.

The districts make the rules, and you go by them. Chances are if you don't race all of the races, you're not going to win anything. Our district in western new york races 30 races each year, and splits it up to 10 races in the spring, summer, and fall series. You have to race at least one race in each of those series to be eligible for any year end points or awards, but at each race you get your money or trophy, depending on your finish. If you can't afford it, or you have to work, or get hurt, it's just the nature of the game, and that's the way it is. Just race when you can and have fun.

If you cant afford to race then its time to take up a different hobby. I would love to race Ferrari's but it seems to reward those who can afford Ferrari's and have the time and money to race them.........................Life is so unfair Pinch

Yeah that's how it works in the pros, you miss some races and your prior results mean squat. Guess I'll go back to eating paint chips

Lots of reasons to do it and a big one is not awarding series Championships to classes with small numbers.

Show up and win 50 expert twice then the same 3 guys don't race all the rounds and you win.

Seems to me it rewards POINTS to those that Attend the Number of RACES that the District Requires.

Hey, I know! Let's cut the Nationals back to 3 events!

my guess is they only have so many seats at the awards banquet and want those who attended the races to have a spot over someone who just wanted to go to the banquet.

The only series I raced was the SRAC in Colorado back in the 80's and 90's and that wasn't in the rule book. You earned points and points determined the season end awards. If someone got hurt late in the season they still were in the final results, regardless of the number of races they missed.

Haven't raced there in a long time so I don't know what the currently might do.

It didn't say anything about how many riders are in the class! It's about how many races they entered

It's funny how you say Three 50 experts but there will be two divissions of 50 int

i've seen at hangtown 8 vet experts and 120 vet int...and half of the int were ex pro's sand bagging

Seems to be the way most series are going these days. Entries have dropped so low that most, if not all, series are won by people who are good at showing up. This rule saves the promoter from having to buy awards for riders who only ran 3 or 4 events.

Most tracks that have a track championship require you to show up for atleast 3/4 of the races to earn season end awards. I raced with broken ribs, foot, and wrist one year to get enough races in. You have to be in it to win it!

D-14 in Michigan requires eight races to be eligible for year end awards and scoring your best 16 finishes. I am a mid pack guy but sit fifth in points due to the number of races I attend. It works both ways.

If my kid dosen't attent all his pee-wee soccer games he dosen't get a trophy either.

It rewards those willing to make a sacrifice to attend every race/game/match.

Not sure why it's a shocker that they want to reward those that actually go.

D-22 in Iowa was 22 races last year and only 12 this year i believe. 10 or 12 races is plenty. Anything more then that is just a participation trophy imo.

Just think if the Pros had a rule like that. RV would have had his SX championship revoked last year when he tweaked his knee and missed the last 2 or 3 rounds.

Maybe I'll just pay the entry fee and enter one class the weekends I have to work and just not go .So long as I pay that's what's important. Boy trophies must be expensive !!!!!!! In my opinionSmile

I'm the promoter of the AMA Main Event Series in Texas. Its the largest night series in Texas.

We have an awards ceremony at a banquet hall after the series is over.

The top 5 in points are invited, regardless of how many rounds they attended.

If a rider earned the points they deserve the awards and contingencies.

We hand out over 20K worth of awards and contingencies on this night.

Beginners do not receive and contingencies, instead the are awarded with a training session with some of our local pro's.

Click on the link below to see how I thank the riders, parents, sponsors, tracks and everybody else that helps make the Main Event Series the biggest night series in Texas.

So if I apply this rule to work it goes like this, I work 4 days and miss Friday so I don't get paid at all. Is this how it works Lostboy819?

That's how it works in your series so quit whining about it race the required amount of races so you will get your 10th place 250 beginner award at the end of the season.

THis is true, however with the SRAC at least when I started had 26 MX events a year, and 6 SX rounds. CHances are if you only made 10 rounds you were SOL as far as points anyway
