These are NOT outdoor motocross tracks. I usually do not miss watching races such as RedBud, Millville, Unadilla, etc on TV. Switched channels after 3 minutes of watching Miller, will probably do the same tomorrow for Elsinore. You know the tracks are bad when you are watching, and think to yourself that the local tracks you ride have better dirt/layout than these, which are on a National caliber. The outdoor series needs to get its shit together. Tracks like Baja Acres and Monster Mountain look 100 times more National caliber than these venues. Sorry to be another bitching fan, but the fact that these tracks are on the circuit is insane.
There ya go.
"Natural terrain motocross"
^^ That track looks really nice

i hope they dont keep this trend going with these lame ass tracks. i dont buy the whole "we need to attract main stream sponsors and have professional events, blabla" that's what supercross is for
i dont get why it'd be that difficult to install some bathrooms and whatever other upgrades need to be done to existing tracks to make it more spectator friendly
freestone was by no means a great track for a national, but it was certainly better than pala, miller motorsports park and lake elsinore.
Pit Row
Sometimes those "shitty" tracks provide better racing. I'll be at Elsinore sweating my ass off in dirty hot ass weather, but I wouldn't rather be doing anything else besides riding myself. I'm watching the best dirt bikers in the world WFO in person...
Too many whiners wanting trees, grass, shade and unicorns prancing in the nearby forests under rainbows of mist.
There were plenty of riders that had positives to say about it. They have a 2-3 year contract give them time see how it works. You can say bad things about any place. There was plenty of passing going on. They are on the right track just need some tweaking!
Trees and elevation? ...Since when was that a requirement for MX?
You want all natural terrain? ...Well get a time machine, 'cuz they've been building obstacles on MX tracks since the 80s
"Outdoor Supercross"??... I didn't see any 180 degree bowl turns, whoop sections, step on/offs, etc. at Miller or Elsinore last year. But I did see a shit ton of ruts, chewed up straightaways and jump faces, and generally gnarliness that made my butt pucker with no desire to ride it with my mortal skills
MX Sports has made it very clear road race facilities are not the "future" of the outdoor nationals. Theyre simply changing it up. It's a "national" championship circuit that should be indicative of the varying terrain and track styles that we have in the US.
Crickey! I mean I expect a bunch of whiners when I log on here but this crap about the nationals is getting ridiculous.
So you won't see them at road racing venues because they cannot do this legally. I guess that is one of the reasons Daytona is a SX, and not a national. Of course there are other reasons it is a SX
too....
Maybe someone can chime in here, but I heard something to that effect on Pulp MX.
But I agree with you 100%. Change is good.
There's a hell of a lot more DC has to worry about than our opinions.
Like outside sponsors, they're the life blood of racing.
Overall, I thought the MMP race was good as well.
Rough as hell and lots of ruts. There's no exact definition for an outdoor mx track.
As far as Elsinore goes, I'll reserve judgement until after the race.
Btw, I couldn't last more than a lap either on that rough sob.
we've been through this a million times.
