Good luck to whoever it is but roadracing is way worse off financially than mx. The AMA series is struggling to get the races on TV and I doubt any riders outside the top 3 are making any money. It's a shame because the racing is really good right now.

Exactly. You guys think MX is bad, road racing is really in the dumps unfortunately.
Spooner,

I'll give you more inside info on who this rider is at our regional meeting at NVP.

Can't let the cat out of the bag yet. The "mystery" rider is still under contract and has not decided if he will road race next year or race moto...

Given your locale, I'll guess Lemoine.

I have an aquaintance that is pretty damn fast RoadRacer and KTM sponsors his endurance racing team in the CMRA by giving him a couple of RC8rs every season..

He is an average Joe working down at the bike shop during the week.

He told me that riders that he can beat quite handily and has on many occasions get the sponsored rides cause Daddy comes in and 'sponsors' the racing effort to the tune of about $300K/ year.

it's always been like this in all types of road racing

I read that michael schumacer paid for his own tires and some parts when he first started doing GT racing in the early 90s..euro auto sport fans correct me if im wrong about the series.

motocross is going this way too, but i still think you need to be an outstanding rider to even qualify. I think the amount of talent in the back of the pack in American road racing is signfiantly less than whats in the back of the pack at a ama national, sx or maybe even AX to some extent.

he yards the competion, its obvious that whatever his bike has, the other dont..and supposedly pegram and herrin have the same engine

road racing takes skill but i think the bike is more part of the equation as opposed to mx or off-road

Scratch that. I was just wandering the pits and heard something about number 13 expressing interest in road racing.

Has Blake "missed most of the season" as the OP states?
No, just the last few rounds.
Tedesco has missed the whole year, Tommy Hahn has missed most, he did 2 mx rounds, that' be my guess from Texas.
Hung with him briefly at Lorettas and he's doing mx schools like most the other former pros, didn't say anything about Road Race.
My bud Blake Young won the most Suberbike finals 2 years ago for Yosh/Rockstar/Suzuki and has no ride this year.
TV is terrible for road race too.

Year in and year out? He wins almost every time,
AMA champ I dunno, how many times/years?

Agreed, the bike must be real good, but for this long now?

I think he's just an exceptional rider, cocky to the point where he truly believes he own's everyone he lines up against.

Why he hasn't done the motogp thing yet, who knows...........

Josh Herrin( same bike as Hayes) and Roger Hayden both beat him fair and square at the last race. Josh is an incredible rider with a pitbull attitude on the track. What Herrin and Hayden did when they beat him was truly cool and a very damn good race.

Accoding to what Guy heard in the pits, the cat is out of the bag. I just didn't wanna be the one letting the cat out...
