But we've ran into a problem this year with the recording schedules. DirecTV likes to cancel recordings with the same name, often causing us to miss out on the second motos. I still fully support this great TV package we have, thanks to DC, but DirecTV can be a pain in the ass. If i click on a program and tell it to record, record the fuckin show. I'm gonna have to rename the box HAL.

No, no, no, the DirecTV box sees that there are two programs with the same name trying to record and it cancels the one recording second. It's not the local affiliate, its the stupid box.

Not sure what caused your problem, the race was on NBCSports as scheduled here and solid on the dvr. The 250 motos were great races to watch for sure.

unlike the sx series where everything records flawlessly all season on directv, these mx recordings have been a shit show, I go out for the day excited to come home at night and watch the motos. when I only usually get 2 out of 4 recorded because they change the name of the recording every week so my dvr doesn't pick it up. I missed both first motos this week.

You need to cancel your "series" recording of the races and then record it each week. PIA, but after missing the first motos for two races I finally figured out what was going on. Sucks that you have to jump thru hoops to record these things when paying $100/month for TV.

This is true, but I also found out that you cannot record "extra time" either. Seeing as it's a live event, we usually add 30 minutes to the recording, just in case. But the box will see two programs with the same name recording within the same time period and cancel the second one.

PIA is right...
