Robbie Knievel, the daredevil son of Evel Knievel who was arrested in South Dakota Tuesday for going on a drunken rampage in a Sturgis trailer park — called into ‘TMZ Live’ today to explain that he’s a hardcore alcoholic and has no plans of stopping.

“I’m a friggin’ drinking, driving daredevil,” he defiantly told the gossip news site. “I ride motorcycles and I friggin’ drink and ride … that’s my deal.”

“I have an alcohol problem,” an unapologetic Mr. Knievel continued. “I’m a cowboy. I’m not a redneck. But I love whiskey.”

The most concerning part of the interview, TMZ said, was when the 51-year-old talked about drinking and driving.

“I shouldn’t be drinking and driving ‘cause I could kill somebody,” he said, “and you know what, it would be better if I killed myself.”

Mr. Knievel was arrested around 6:38 p.m. Tuesday outside of the Buffalo Chip campground in Sturgis where lots of tourists stay for the city’s motorcycle rally, TMZ first reported.

The park’s security called police after the daredevil drove his RV into two other RVs on the property, breaking a mirror and a bumper, and then tore out of the property, law enforcement told TMZ.

Police later found Mr. Knievel in a nearby parking lot, texting in the driver’s seat of the RV with the motor running. He blew a .228 in a breathalyzer test, almost three times the legal limit in the state, TMZ said. He also failed field sobriety tests.

Mr. Knieval was booked and released. His license was suspended for 30 days and he’s been ordered to pay nearly $600 in fines, according to TMZ.

Dude has more problems than just alcoholism it seems. Needs to see a shrink from what I gather. Bummer to hate yourself so much , you follow down a path of destruction....and not really caring who you take along with you.

I can't believe he only loses his license for 30 days. Is that normal in the US? It's automatic 12 months here just for DUI, plus more for his antics.

Also, I don't get the whole field sobriety test, shouldn't the bretho tell the story?

Different states and Counties have different DUI laws, This area Sturgis is the biggest Harley Rally of the year and is a huge party, You really have to do something bad to get arrested.

Not to mention our Jails are over crowded and depending on how many offenses a person has is a factor in Sentencing.

One of the Baltimore morning shows here played that interview on the radio today. I couldn't believe it was real. He also said something about riding without helmets and doing drugs. I can't remember his exact words, but what a moron. Won't they replay all of this for the judge when he goes to court for his DUI? I don't condone killing oneself, but maybe he should if he thinks driving drunk like that is okay.

There are kids on Cobra 50s who would jump bigger with more skill than Knievel.

honesty is the best policy....he likes his jack...rides around in a metallica bus, pulls the odd boner air and gets paid. how can you cut that down? he's doin it while you're doing the 9 to 5.

LMFAO... the first comment cracked me up.

Dude's been doing this for around 30 years and he still rides a 1990-era Honda and still doesn't know what tapping the back brake will do when you nearly loop out off a jump. What a joke. Half the kids at Loretta's can out jump this guy.

This is all part of the lead in to the big show.

Robbie, like Evel, is the ultimate showman.

Evel was a self promoter showman who took huge risks, and oftentimes paid the price that comes with the hype. He made lots of big mistakes along the way in his personal life and owned up to every single one of them. Like him or not he was a pioneer and did stuff nobody ever dreamed of before he showed up.

Robbie is a miserable toolbag loser.

In 1997 he did a jump at Lake Elsinore that was the same time the Lake Elsinore GP was. I was "privileged" enough to accompany Mr. Robby to dinner with a bunch of people. At some point he was asked about new Crusty Demons of Dirt and MOtoXXX videos. His answer? It was CG and fake. No way motorcycles could do that stuff.

As for that 'jump', Pastrana was jumping a bigger gap, on a RM125, stuck in 2nd gear, on hardpack slippery dirt, at 16 years old, pulling off XGames tricks and winging it.

Jeeze, guys- he was "arrested" and "charged" with DUI. Won't the actual sentence and punishment comes after he goes to trial and is "convicted"? You automatically lose your license for 30days here if you are charged with DUI and have failed and breathalyser or field sobriety test (even though you haven't yet been convicted). If this is his first DUI offense, his sentence will be lighter, any subsequent convictions are much, much worse.

Dude lives up near Sequim. He also has a pretty bad gambling problem, racked up like 10k in debt to the casino then did a jump for them to pay it off....or so I heard.

How does he not know how to tap his brake in the air after riding so long?? I picked that trick up when I first started riding.

His manger sold off his jump bikes. Tried last month to sell 3 together at 15,000 but couldn't get a bid. Then tired 10,000. Just looked this morning and two have sold separately for 4000 each. Wonder if Robbie owes him money? Said in sale these are the last jump bikes, Robbie will not jump anymore.
