To the guy who's buddy wrecked the quad that looks extremely painful. That is why you don't jump quads or ride them on motocross tracks. That is dangerous.

yep big table is gone and i think it is gone for two reasons. 1. the video you posted (too many bad crashes) and 2. they did a rework of the track few years ago and that whole straightaway is gone and is now kinda the straight that comes back to the sweeper by the finish... they have a lot of jumps that don't "flow" to keep the speed down

That's your opinion, and you're getting others with either similar or different views.

The best opinion is an educated one. I don't know if you've been there, or just watched video or TV about the week.

If you've ridden the track, there's more than enough to keep your interest level peaked for the entire 20 minutes no matter what obstacles you encounter. Not to mention the battles going on at every level of the pack. People are fighting just as hard for 25th place as they are for 5th. Just not at the same pace and lap times.

Jumps are fun, but that week in TN is pretty cool and not dependent on the track detail.

I live in Jackson County IL, small town rural America. We had 3 this year, 5 last year. We have had a rider there so many years in the past. very few years that didn't. I started going to LL's in 83, that year we had 3 that I can remember. Ava IL had 3 riders that grew up with adjoining property lines, I always thought that was cool. Desoto IL is another hotspot with Murphysboro and Carbondale following suit.

You should probably take a little trip outside your circle of 10 dusty jump tracks and expand your horizons. You'll see that there are plenty of tracks with minimal jumps that are incredibly fun and challenging.

If you've ever built a track, you'd know that nothing degrades your obstacles like a lot of traffic. Loretta's is unique in that regard. Adding bigger hits would only create more issues and add nothing to the event.

Nope, motocross is motor cycle cross-country racing. THere are no jumps in motocross. THe bikes don't have wings, and are not for getting satellite pics of the ground. It is intended for racing 2 wheels on the ground. Jumps are the easiest part of the sport. Only entry-level and non-racers think that jumps are 'it'. Once you are a mid-pack beginner at an amatuer-level, you can do almost any jump, including supercross triples. Takes a little bit of balls at first, but then after that, there is really no talent to do them. What's hard in moto, is being on the ground, going fast, lasting long, and getting it turned around, without stopping. Glen Helen does'nt really have jumps, a few easy ones, but try going around that track as fast as you can late in the day for 30 minutes, you cant, if you could, you would be REAL good at moto.

I bet it was designed to work the shit out of the riders the entire time. On track walk you look and say, "i'll double this or triple that" then you get out there for practice and it's like a bunch of giant fucking whoops. Love it....

Sure jumps are fun most kids practice them all day. Back in the olden days we kids loved this new fangled supercross stuff. We all wanted more jumps rhythm sections anything that got us off the ground. We attacked these sections every lap of practice jumping over the veteran riders and mocking their lack of bravado. Then the gate drops and most of the ground hogs would just motor by on the old school sections and leave us in the dust. Saving seconds in the multiple turns and off cambers always added up to more than the couple of tenths save by hucking the big stuff. Want to jump go the the X Games want to race go to LL's.

I know I was on 80's back in my days there and I haven't seen them in person since, but have the 10 commandments been cut down slightly? I remember having such a hard time in them because they were so "big" and more peaked where you had to hit them perfectly or it messed you up big time. Again, it may just be my memory when I was smaller.

Either way, I seem to remember Mark Neiderheiser going through them 3-4-3 in the early 90's (I'm sure there were some others who did it too). I think he was on a CR500 at the time (1991, he finished 4th in Open A),. One of the gnarliest things I ever saw. I also remember RC on an 80 going 1-2-3-2-2 from the inside.
